Rhino Sports and Playland – Minor Midgets

The Minor Midgets played host to the Kingston Frontenac’s on Wednesday and recently had been beaten by Kingston on pre-season play in August so there was a need to set the course of 4 games straight early on with a strong showing in the first meeting in regular season. The Red Devils would score six minutes into the game as Michael Andrews would grab his own rebound and beat the goalie short side as Zach Uens and Isaac Langdon would pick up the assists. The Minor Midgets would keep Kingston off of the scoreboard in the first period as Ethan Taylor was once again strong between the pipes when called upon.

Four minutes into the second period Isaac Langdon and Graham Dickerson would set up Michael Andrews on a sweet passing play created by the hard-nose corner work of Dickerson that allowed the play to unfold. The Rhino Sports and Playland Minor Midgets would trade-off chances during the middle part of the frame until a power play goal by Logan White as Derrick Vos would maintain his presence on the blue-line which allowed Jake Campbell to slide a crafty pass over to the wide open Logan White for the 3-0 lead heading into the third period.

Kingston would score 55 seconds into the third and then added another one just four minutes later but  just three minutes after the Kingston goal Michael Andrews would make it 4-2 on another hard-nose goal crease scramble with Graham Dickerson poking the puck loose for the tap in. Then just two minutes later Jake Campbell would be set in on a breakaway pass by Derrick Vos who thread the needle between 3 Kingston players from blue line to blue line and Jake never broke stride as the pass was tape to tape. Jake would snap the puck just under the blocker (stick-side) to make it a 5-2 game. Kingston would score late in the game to make it a 5-3 victory
