Midgets Tie in Kingston
It was a hard fought point in Kingston this weekend as the McInroy Maines Major Midget Devils tied the Kingston Jr. Frontenacs in Kingston on Saturday.
Kingston started the scoring midway through the first frame and carried the lead until Greg Thomas scored at 11:48 of the second to tie the game at one. Greg Powels put the Devils ahead on a nice move with the only assist from Billy Finney at 7:49 of the second. Kingston scored twice to take the lead going into the third, but the Devils were not ready to quit. At 12:59 of the third Brandon Forestell scored on a nifty passing play with assists going to Shelby Rienstra and Tanner Sheppard. Sean Storr took the tie as he stopped 25 of 28 Kingston shots.
The Devils resume play this weekend as they will be on a road trip facing off in Barrie on Saturday night and North Central (Orillia) Sunday afternoon.
Devils Dirt- Ryan Fraser is out indefinitely with a fractured leg.
