The Madison Excavating Minor Bantams had a tough lineup this past weekend as they faced the Raiders and the Express in regular season play.
Friday had the Devils take to the road to Ajax-Pickering to face the Raiders. It was Quinte who hit the scoreboard first in the game with a shot from Ben Danford, assisted by Ben Vreugdenhil and Nolan Donnelly. The Raiders would tie the game but the Devils took the lead again with a goal from Vreugdenhil, assisted by Donnelly and Danford. The game was tied going into the third and with the battle back and forth all period, it was Brody Partridge with the game winning goal on the set up by Beckett Ewart. Glen McInnes protected the cage for the game for the 3-2 victory. Sunday saw the Devils host the York-Simcoe Express. Quinte was first the light the lamp in the first set but it would be all Express offence for the remaining first and second period. The Devils got down in the second and could not recover, potting only one more in the third to succumb to a 6-2 loss. Danford would score the lone goal of the first, assisted by Donnelly and Braedyn Rogers. Gage Butcher would score unassisted in the third. Net minding was shared by McIvor and McInnes. The Madison Excavating Minor Bantams will host the Richmond Hill Coyotes next Sunday at RCAF.
