QRD Weekly Report – December 11, 2017

Foley Bus Lines - Minor Bantam
The Foley Bus Lines Minor Bantams played two games this past weekend in ETA action against the Oshawa Generals and the Clarington Toros. On Saturday Dec. 9, the Bus Liners hosted the Oshawa Generals at the QSWC.  The Devils exploded early in the first period with 4 unanswered goals.  Scoring for the Devils were; Kellen Dostaler with the game opener, then Trevor Hoskin scored 3 straight goals within 4 minutes to gain the Hat Trick.  Assisting on the Dostaler goal was Liam Cassidy.  Assisting on the Hoskin Hat Trick were; Noah Richard, Dalyn Wakely with 2, and Aaron Brown with 2.  In the 2
nd period the Generals would add a goal with a 5 on 3 advantage, and Cooper Matthews would score on a pass from Connor Hunt, to make the game 5 to 1 in favour of the Devils.  The third period saw no team score, as the Devils would take the win 5 to 1 as Corbin Votary went the distance in the Devils cage.

On Sunday Dec. 10, the Bus Liners would take to the road to play the Clarington Toro’s.  The Toro’s got on the board first, but Connor Hunt would even the score unassisted to end the first period in a 1 - 1 tie.  Dalyn Wakely would give the Devils the lead, early in the 2nd period on feeds from Noah Richard and Trevor McDowell.  Trevor McDowell would score the third Devil goal in an empty Toro net to make the final 3 to 1 in favour of the Devils.  Brady Spry made several key saves, including a last-minute break away save, to keep the Devils in the game.

On Deck: Next action for the Foley Bus Lines Minor Bantams is Saturday Dec 16 at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre, where the Devils will host the North Central Predators. Puck Drop is scheduled for 3:45pm.

Rhino Sports and Play Quinte - Novice
Rhino Sports and Play Quinte Novice Red Devils had three stellar performances, with two road wins and one home game win this past week. On Thursday Dec. 7, the Devils travelled to Peterborough to take on the Pete's, and came away with a 5-3 win. Jonas McCoy started the game off with an unassisted first period goal. With no goals scored by the Devils in the second period an exuberant effort was brought forth in the third, bringing the game to the final 5-3 win. Goal scorers were Gabriel Davis (2), Nate Rashotte and MacLean Chisholm. Assists came from Chase Cybulskie. Daniel Yeo had a strong performance between the pipes.

On Saturday Dec. 9, the Devils prevailed and scored another road victory against the Clarington Toros. It was a close game for the Devils that ended with a 4-3 final score. Goalie Charlie Vos stood on his head for his team. Two minutes into the first, Jake Gawley buried one deep and got the Devils rolling with an assist from Braydon Davidson. Second period goals were scored by MacLean Chisholm, and Ryan Foley with an assist from Cameron Shaw.  Jake Gawley brought the battle to an end with a third period unassisted short hand goal bringing the Devils back to home ice for an early afternoon Sunday game against rivals the Central Ontario Wolves.

The Devils showed up to a packed barn on Sunday Dec. 10, to show their hometown fans a great game in a 5-2 victory. With three first period goals from Nate Rashotte,  Braydon Davidson and Joey Neiman with assists from Chase Cybulskie, Jonas McCoy, Ryan Foley,  Nate Rashotte and Seth Scaletta (2).  The second and third period each brought single goals for the Devils, Braydon Davidson and Chase Cybulskie, with assists fromMcCoy and Scaletta. Yet again another fantastic performance by rock solid goalie Daniel Yeo.

On Deck: The next regular season game is on the road against the Clarington Toros on Saturday December 23rd.

 

Game Ready Hockey Development - Bantam
The Game Ready Development Bantams had two games this past week. On Thursday Dec. 7, the Devils hosted the Whitby Wildcats where they lost 5-0. Ethan Fraser was in net. 

Saturday Dec. 10, the Devils took on the Oshawa Generals at home in a 7-2 win. Scoring was Luke LaPalm (2), Zack Brooks (2), Nathanial Burelle, Daniel Michaud, and Ethan Breok. Assists by Daniel Michaud (2) Ben

White (2), Jett Butler (2), Gavin Camp, Connor Brooks, Nathanial Burelle, and Hunter Hall. 

Dixon Grimes was in net. Jett Butler was awarded player of the game. 

 

Madison Excavating - Minor Peewee
Madison Excavating Minor Peewees secured 4 points in league play this weekend with 2 road games. Friday night saw the team hit the snowy road to Clarington to take on the Toros at the Rickard arena. While the Toros struck first on the scoreboard, it was Gage Butcher on the set up from Ty Therrien who evened up the score and tie the game 1-1. Jared Langdon would get the go ahead goal, assisted by Landon Wright and Carson Campbell, making it a 2-1 game in the Devils favour. The Devils would hold on to that lead and take the victory. Mike McIvor stood tall in net for Quinte.

The Devils would be back on the road Sunday as they travelled to the Evinrude Arena to face the Peterborough Petes. The game would start slow with both the first and second period ending in a 0-0 tie. It would be Langdon in the third set, who would be first to hit the board, assisted by Liam Philip and Beckett Ewart. That first goal would roll into 2 more for the Devils in the third and give Quinte the 3-0 win. Scoring the next goals were Philip on the tip in from Braedyn Rogers and Langdon and Butcher on the set up from Wright and Deacon Ellis. Dean Spry recorded the shut out between the pipes.

On Deck: The Madison Excavating Minor Peewees will play host in Madoc to the Whitby Wildcats on Sunday at 1pm.
