The U16 Pita Pit Quinte Red Devils Go 3-0 This Weekend
At home on Thursday, the U16 Pita Pit Quinte Red Devilsbeat the Clarington Toros 4-2. The Red Devils came out strong, with two quick goals from Cohan Sands and Zack Carrier. The game held at 2-1 through the second period but Liam Boyer protected the pipes and the Red Devils secured the win with a 4-2 final. Goals late in the second period and early in the third were scored by Avery Wease and Brody Nielissen.
On Friday, the U16 Quinte Red Devils hit the road to take on the Ajax-Pickering Raiders. Reece Herman was in net and Ben Sherwin secured the 4-3 win with a hat trick! Deke Osterhout had the other Quinte goal.
The Red Devils were on the road again Sunday to play the Richmond Hill Coyotes. It was a close game but the Red Devils were able to hold on to the lead and win the game 3-2. Boyer was in net and goals were scored by Evan Erwin, Parker Fergusson and Sam Thompson.
A successful weekend of hockey!
ON DECK: The U16 Pita Pit Quinte Red Devils take on the Peterborough Petes Thursday at home (7pm). On Sunday at 4pm, the Barrie Colts come to town for a rematch. This time, the Red Devils hope to take the win!

The McInroy Maines Quinte Red Devils U18 team hosted two home games this past week and secured 3 points in regular season play.
The midweek match up at RCAF was the QRD squad verses the Central Ontario Wolves. In acknowledging Breast Cancer Awareness month, both teams donned their pink jerseys for warm ups and joined as group to commemorate the efforts both teams are making to support the cause. The game between the two centres was another back and forth battle. It was Quinte on a shot from Beau Reade to hit the scoreboard first. Assist came from Justin Murdoch. COW evened the score in the second and despite many efforts in the third the QRD team would settle for a tie. Dean Spry was in net for the game.
Saturday had the team at their home ice to host the North Central Predators. In a game that proved to be physical battle, the Devils rose above and took down the Predators with a 2-1 win. Reade scored the first goal for the Devils in the second set on the set up from Rylan Reid. Murdoch scored the game winner, assisted by Reade and Jared Woolley. Glen McInnes and Spry shared netminding duties after McInnes was injured during play.
ON DECK: The McInroy Maines crew will head to Scugog to once again face the Central Ontario Wolves on Tuesday and be back at home to host the Kingston Gaels on Thursday. Saturday, Oct. 29th will be a special event for the U18 Devils as they will be hosting the Barrie Colts on Saturday 6pm at QSWC and will be fundraising for Breast Cancer Awareness. Attendants are asked to bring along a non perishable food item to the game for donation to the Gleaners Food Bank in Belleville and help support the team's efforts with fundraising tables before the game - all proceeds to go towards local breast cancer awareness/treatment. Come out and support the team in pink.

The Free Flow Petroleum U15 Red Devils skated to the semi-finals at the Jr Canadiens Cup in Toronto this weekend
The U15 Free Flow Petroleum Devils traveled to Toronto to take part in the Tyler Cragg Memorial Jr. Canadiens Cup. In their first matchup they would face the Ottawa Valley Titans. Liam Grant would open scoring for the Devils in the first period, assisted by Tavin MacDonald. QRD was held pointless in the second, with Jake Campbell finding the back of the net midway through the third (Rhett Colson). Unfortunately, it was not enough, and the Devils would fall 4-2 in their opening match. Otsirakatste Brant took the loss in net.
Friday afternoon, the Devils looked to get back in the win column against the Markham Waxers. Matthew Airhart put QRD on the board with a goal at 8:35 in the first, followed minutes later by Rhett Colson who would go end to end to make it 2-0 Devils (Graydon Walst). Markham added a pair of their own, but Jack Foley would score the winning goal at 11:17 in the third. Cohen Bedore played a strong game between the pipes for the 3-2 win.
Saturday morning the Devils faced off against the Mississauga Senators. Liam Campbell would open scoring at 7:24 in the first but the Senators answered with a goal of their own and the first period would end in a draw. Midway through the second L. Campbell, assisted by Jack Foley, would hit the twine for the second time. Again, Mississauga would respond but Airhart (Foley) would seal the 3-2 win for Devils, with Otsirakatste Brant in net.
In their final game of round-robin play Saturday afternoon, the Devils would meet a hungry Don Mills Flyers squad. The Flyers would open scoring and the first period would end with the QRD squad trailing 1-0. It wouldn’t be until late in the second before another goal was added with Kolby Craig, assisted by Kaden Koutroulides tying things up for the Devils. The third period would remain scoreless as both sides battled hard. With only 27 seconds of play remaining, Jacob Moore (L. Campbell) would hit the twine to win the game and seal Quinte’s spot in Sunday’s playoff hockey. Brant earned the win in the 2-1 contest.
In the quarter finals, the U15s faced tournament hosts, the Toronto Jr. Canadiens. Only 30 seconds into the game, Kolby Craig (Koutroulides) would bury a rebound for an early 1-0 lead. This would prove the only goal through two periods of play as both teams battled hard but could not find the net. The Canadiens hit the twine midway through the third and the game would head to a three-on-three overtime showdown. With neither team scoring, the sudden-death contest moved to a shootout. After several attempts, Noah Lesser found the back of the net for the Devils, punching their ticket to the semis. In the other end, Brant stopped 6 of 6 for the win.
In their semi-final matchup, the U15s would meet a strong opponent in the Mississauga Rebels. The Rebels opened scoring, netting two in the first. L. Campbell (Airhart) and the Devils would answer back, and the period would end 2-1. In the second frame, Airhart (Koutroulides) would tie the game, but the Rebels answered, and the period would end 3-2. The Rebels would add and insurance marker and empty net goal in the third, bringing the Devils run to an end. Brant in net for 5-2 loss.
Despite leaving the tourney a game earlier than they would have liked, it was still a great weekend of hockey for the Devils.
ON DECK: The Free Flow Petroleum U15 Red Devils host the North Central Predators at the QSWC on Saturday at 2pm. On Sunday, the team is on the road, facing off against the Ajax-Pickering Raiders.

The U14 E360 Solutions Red Devils split a weekend series with the York Simcoe Express.
On Saturday, QRD launched 36 shots on the York Simcoe Express net, but simply could not find the back of the goal enough in a 3-1 loss. Ryan Sherwin scored for QRD with Ty Leavitt and Ryan Foley picking up assists. Devils of the Day were Ryan Sherwin and Ty Leavitt.
On Sunday, the U14s got a breakaway goal from Nate Rashotte and shutout goaltending from Charlie Vos in a thrilling 1-0 win. Devils of the Day were Charlie Vos and Ryan Sherwin.
Quinte improves to 3-1-1 in ETA league play and sits at 9-2-1 overall on the season.
ON DECK: The U14 E360 Solutions Red Devils host the North Central Predators next Saturday at 12:30pm at QSWC, then hit the road on Sunday to play the Richmond Hill Coyotes.

Gillespie’s Tree Service QRD U13s Take On The Barrie Challenge Cup
The Gillespie’s Tree Service QRD U13s started the week by hosting the Central Ontario Wolves. Quinte came out strong in the first period with Joey Seguin getting QRD started, assisted by (Liam Marion). Trent Clow would follow up with a goal shortly after to put them up by two early in the game, Marion would add his second assist of the contest. Near the end of the opening period Marion would score to get his third point of the game to put the Red Devils up 3-0, Clow would get the apple on the play. Andrew Laurin would open up the second period with a goal of his own, Mauve Aird with the helper, Lauchlan Whelan and Coen Lowry would open up the floodgates to make it 6-0 through two periods of play, Easton Thompson and Andrew Dewar helping out on the goals. Jax Martin would get the all-important seventh goal of the game with assists fro m Lowry and SpencerHarold. Nathan Ferriss would play unreal to earn the win in net. Final Score 7-1.
The Gillespie’s Tree Service QRD U13s headed up to Barrie for the Peewee Challenge Cup looking to take home gold. In game one Quinte went up against the Markham Waxers where QRD would fall behind 1-0 halfway through the opening frame. The Red Devils would soon come alive as Seguin would open the scoring for QRD getting his first of two in the contest assisted by (Clow, Marion). Going into the second the game would be dead locked at 1 a piece until Seguin pots his second of the game to give Quinte the lead, assisted by (Clow, Brechyn Aird). Laurin and Clow would both add insurance goals for the Red Devils making it a 4-1 game heading into the third, assists going to (Whelan, Marion). Shortly into the third Clow would find the back of the net for his second of the game to put Quinte up 5-1 with assists being awarded to
(Seguin, Marion). Whelan would put the finishing touches on an offensive onslaught to make it a final score of 6-1 to open up the tournament. Ryerson Swan picking up the win in the cage.
The Red Devils were feeling good heading into game two of the tournament going up against the Vaughn Kings of the GTHL. Quinte would come out strong possessing some key scoring opportunities but could not put one past the Kings netminder. Vaughn would open up the scoring late in the first period which would end up being the game winning goal as the Red Devils could not find the back of the net as Quinte would go on to lose 2-0. Great game played by Ferriss.
QRD entered must win territory heading into Saturday's game against the Mississauga Reps and they did not disappoint. Quinte would play a hard checking game against a relentless Reps club. The game would stay knotted at 0’s through the first frame until early into the second when Laurin would get on the board first with a beauty assists from (Whelan, Marion). The Red Devils would come right back down the ice and make this a 2-0 game with the goal coming from Trent Clow assisted by (Ewan Dahle, Harold). The Reps would not go away as they would cut the lead in half after Quinte’s second marker. Clow would add his second of the game to give QRD some breathing room and that was enough to put away the Reps, assisted by (Marion, Drew Wright). Swan played great to earn the win. Final score 3-2.
Quinte would enter their fourth game of the tournament needing a win to secure a spot in the Quarter finals on Sunday morning. The Red Devils took on the Grey Bruce Highlander, starting off strong getting the opening goal credited to Clow assisted by (Seguin) The Highlanders would claw back and take the lead scoring two goals in under 30 seconds apart from each other, that would not discourage the Red Devils as they would tie the game up late in the first thanks to B. Aird, helper from (Marion). After the first QRD
would not look back, adding four in the second to make it 6-2 heading into the final frame. B. Aird would find the back the net for his second of the game with Marion adding one of his own, Martin would get in on the second period barrage as would Seguin to make it 6-2 after 2, (Laurin, Ryder Hooey, Dewar and Whelan). Lowry (Dahle, Harold) would add the final goal for Quinte in a 7-3 win over Grey Bruce to secure a spot in the quarter finals. Nathan Ferriss would pick up the W.
The Quinte Red Devils took on the Whitby Wildcats in the quarter final game. Whitby would open the scoring to make it 1-0 early on into the first and that sparked the Red Devils as they would score two goals a minute apart from each other to give Quinte a 2-1 lead, goals scored by Clow and Whelan, assisted by (Marion, Seguin, Thompson and Laurin). Just minutes after the Wildcats would tie the game back up making it 2-2 going into the second. Clow would give Quinte a 3-2 lead, then QRD would get into some penalty trouble which ultimately decided their fate as Whitby would add two power play goals to knock Quinte out of the tournament.

The Bonn Law QRD U12 team picked up all 4 points in ETA league play this weekend.
On Friday evening, the Devils headed East on the 401 for a tilt with the Gaels. It took a period to shake off the car legs before the team went on to score 6 unanswered goals in a 6-0 win. Lighting the lamp in the game was Hughes, Whalen, Nicholson, Miedema, Stevens and Grant. Assists going to Dowling, McRae, Grant, Hughes, Pettey, Stevens, Miedema and Teather. Edmund Dowling was player of the game. On Saturday, The Red Devils hosted the Peterborough Petes @ Baltimore. This time the Devils skated to a 4-1 win over the hard-working Petes. Goals in the game were scored by Dowling, Miedema (2), Hughes. Chipping in with helpers on the goals; Plummer, Stevens (2), Nicholson, Whalen, Pettey. Travers picked up another win between the pipes, and Zachary Miedema was player of the game.
ON DECK: The Bonn Law QRD U12 Red Devils are excited to be heading to Boston next weekend, to play in the Exposure Cup Tournament.

The Madison Excavating QRD U11s travelled to Kingston on Wednesday evening to take on the Junior Gaels. QRD opened the scoring with just over a minute left in the first period and would carry that lead into the second. Kingston responded early in the second period with a powerplay goal, when a Gael forward tipped in a shot from the point to even the score at 1. QRD responded minutes later, retaking the lead to end the second period with a 2-1 lead. QRD came out flying in the third period where they would find the back of the net three more times to seal the deal with a 5-1 victory. Goaltender, Hayden Tripp, played a strong game between the pipes. QRD Goal Scorers: Everett Brown (x2), Cooper Plumley (x2), and Max Bucknell
After a victory on Wednesday, the Madison Excavating QRD U11 squad carried that momentum into Saturday’s home game against the Whitby Wildcats. It was a riveting game with plenty of action. QRD would take an early lead, when Reed Kavanagh buried a goal twenty seconds into the game. Minutes later, Brown would add an insurance marker, giving QRD a 2-0 lead going into the second period. Brown then scored his second of the game before the Wildcats responded six seconds later with a goal of their own. The Wildcats put some pressure on by scoring another goal, cutting the lead to 3-2 before taking a penalty. Coulter Watson capitalized on the power play regaining the two-goal lead at 4-2. QRD’s fifth and final goal of the game would come from Cooper Plumley, notching his third goal in the past two games. It was looking as though QRD would finish with a 5-2 victory, when the Wildcats squeaked in a third goal with under three seconds left in the game. In spite of the efforts of the Wildcats, QRD’s determination paid off, earning two more points in the standings with the 5-3 victory. Ben Larmer played a fantastic game in net for QRD, securing the team’s second victory of the week.

The Foley Bus Lines U10 Red Devils headed North this weekend for their first road trip of the season.
Saturday they played in Barrie vs the Colts. Quinte came out on top with an 8-3 win. Evan Andrews had a great game scoring 4 goals. Other goals were scored by Max Norton, Malkin Courtney, Ethan Dowling and Noah Gilchrist. Helping out with assists were Kash Nelson (3), Dowling, Norton, Courtney and Matt Dawson.
Blake Laurin picked up the win in net. Andrews was named Player of The Game.
Sunday they headed up the road to Orillia to play against the North Central Predators. The Red Devils carried their momentum into this game and won 14-2. Nelson led the way in the goal department scoring 4 times. Other goals were scored by Norton (2), Linden Ludolph (2), Andrews (2), Dowling, Graydon Tucker, Will Beebe and Matt Dawson. Picking up assists in the game were Gilchrist (5), Andrews (2), Ryker Thompson (3), Courtney (2), Sebastien Smit (2), Beebe (2), Mac Brown (2), Tucker, Norton and Cohen Reid.
Lily Groeneveld picked up the win between the pipes. Ludolph was named player of the game.
ON DECK: The Foley Bus Lines U10 Red Devils play Saturday, October 29th at home in Marmora vs Barrie at 2pm. Sunday, October 30th they are back on the road in Peterborough to take on the Petes.
