CrossFit Belleville Bantams win 9th Straight and are 13-1 in last 14 games
The CrossFit Belleville Bantams played Kingston and Oshawa this week and won their 9th in a row but it may only be good enough to finish second in the ETA East behind Whitby.

The Bantams travelled to Kingston on Wednesday night and played extremely poor in the first period but rebounded in the second to take the game over. Kingston was able to get on the board first in the early stages of the game to take a 1-0 lead. The Red Devils wouldn’t muster much of an offence in the first period but managed to keep Kingston to the perimeter, a message needed to be sent out by the coaching staff to rattle some cages and serve as a wake-up call to the team.  Shortly after the wake-up call and some line juggling the score was 1-1, then 2-1 several minutes later and Quinte was on their way and wouldn’t relinquish the lead as they took it into the intermission.

The third goal early in the third was an amazing passing play (more than likely wound up on the TSN Top 10 Highlights of the week) as the passing went tic-tac-toe between Zach Uens, Dalton Bancroft and the finisher Logan White, it sure was a thing of beauty.

The CrossFit Belleville Bantams would get goals from Michael Andrews(2), Jake Campbell, Emmet Pierce and Logan White as assists went to Cameron Supryka(2), Jake Campbell, Emmet Pierce, Dalton Bancroft, Derrick Vos and Zach Uens. The Red Devils would win 5-2 behind a strong goaltending performance from Ethan Taylor.

Sometimes teams-players “just” need to find the answers within themselves as they all can’t be drawn up on the Whiteboard, things like effort, execution and finish and congratulations to the boys for doing just that before the games conclusion.

On Saturday the Bantams played host to the Oshawa Generals and once again the Devils came out of the dressing room slowly and it transpired into a sluggish start. The CrossFit Bantams would battle through the diversity and challenges presented by Oshawa, the Bantams would win 4-2 behind the spectacular goaltending of Brennan Bush.

The first goal was another passing play beauty as it started with Derrick Vos who slid it over to Cameron Supryka at the point, then over to Dalton Bancroft who redirected the puck to Emmet Pierce who gave a “how do you do” head fake to the General Defence then saucered a pass back door to Derrick Vos who buried the puck into the back of the net. Quinte would take the lead into the second period and before the end of the second period it was a 3-1 lead for the Devils that would eventually become a 4-2 victory.

The Quinte Red Devils goals were scored by Derrick Vos, Nolan Seto, Jake Campbell and Daniel Panetta while assists went to Emmet Pierce(2), Dalton Bancroft, Ryan Loiselle, Daniel Panetta and Jake Campbell.

Next game action will be at the Quinte Wellness and Sports Center, on Saturday January 23 versus the Central Ontario Wolves at 2:15pm.
