OMHA Play-Offs – Round One – Kingston Frontenacs
Game 1 – Quinte (6) – Kingston (2)

The CrossFit Belleville Bantams started the playoffs against the Kingston Frontenacs on Saturday. The Bantams came ready to play and started strong against their ETA East and 401 rivals. They were shorthanded with Carden Guerin and Ryan Loiselle out with a suspension and an upper body injury and both players were missed by their team mates heading into the playoffs.

The Red Devils would open the scoring in the first period and wouldn't surrender the lead the rest of the game. Brennan Bush would stand tall in net stopping all shots he would face in the first period and all but two in the entire game. Brennan would earn his first career playoff victory on route to a 6-2 victory for the Red Devils.

The goal scoring was led by Derrick Vos with two, Bailey Matthews, Michael Andrews, Logan White and Daniel Panetta would round out the scoring. Assists went to Emmet Pierce (2), Logan White, Connor Kennedy, Dalton Bancroft (2), Cameron Supryka, Zach Uens and Michael Andrews.

Game 2 – Quinte (3) – Kingston (0)

Once again the Red Devils found themselves shorthanded with Carden Guerin, Ryan Loiselle and Keegan Hunt not in the line-up for the CrossFit Belleville Bantams due to suspensions and injuries and this would leave the defensive core two D-man short.

The collective effort of the D-Men (Connor Kennedy, Derrick Vos, Cameron Supryka and Zach Uens) would be tested but as they have done all year, they stood the ground and prevented the Kingston Frontenacs from penetrating our end while allowing Ethan Taylor to back stop a 3-0 victory…#DefenceWinsChampionships.

Ethan wouldn’t face many quality chances in the first or third periods but kept the Red Devils in the lead as the Frontenacs took over the game for a short period of time during the second period and he allowed his teammates time to regroup as he took care of the back end. Ethan would be the difference during some penalty kill time when the Bantams were down two men and Kingston was unable to score.

The opening goal was scored by Michael Andrews and Daniel Panetta would add another in the second period, Zach Uens would round out the scoring in the third period while assists went to Emmet Pierce (2), Jake Campbell and Bailey Matthews.

The next game for the CrossFit Belleville Bantams will be on Wednesday February 17, 2016 at the Quinte Wellness Center.
