Quinte Tames the Wildcats and Outwork Waxers
In two games this week the KKP Minor Midgets played the Whitby Wildcats and the Markham Waxers and held their own taking four out of a possible four points.
December 9th (2-1 win over Whitby)
In the usual Wednesday Night in Devil Land the visiting team were the Wildcats of Whitby. Coming off a great win over the previously undefeated York-Simcoe Express the Cats were flying high. The Minor Midget Men quickly demonstrated this game would not have the same result. Although it was a close game the Devils played their style of quick, unrelenting #TeamFirst hockey and reaped the rewards.
Evan Morrison collected the W for his side with help from forwards Dawson and Devin with assists on the Baker/Morrison goals coming from Zarichny, Roy, Boomhower and Leonard.
December 12th (6-3 win over Markham)
The Devils week ended with another home game this time with the visiting Markham Waxers taking up the charge at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre - Family Dental Centre Rink. It was a high scoring game with plenty of action on the gamesheet. Scoring for the Devils were Sherwin and Dunkley (2), Grills and Roy with singles and helpers brought to the table by Baker and Dunkley (2), Sherwin, Grills, Leonard, Crowe, Roy and Poole. All of those points gave the Devils the decision and net-minder Nelson the W.
