Season Opens on the Road with Two Points for Major Midget Devils
The McInroy Maines Major Midget Quinte Red Devils battled until the last minute to capture two points on the road in their first game of the season on Sunday September 20th against the Markham Waxers.

Anthony Bertucca made 23 saves only allowing one power play goal to back stop the Devils to a 2-1 win on the road on Markham. It was truly a battle out there as both teams were defensively sharp in this low scoring affair. Billy Finney scored his first as a Devil getting his team on the board first with an unassisted goal at 7:09 of the first period.

The Devils found themselves in penalty trouble in the second period as the killed off five penalties in a row before finally allowing a goal at 8:28 of the second period. The game stayed in a deadlock until half just over halfway through the third period when Greg Powels seeing eye wrist shot found the back of the net with the assist to Dawson Ellis. The men in black held the fort after that holding the 2-1 lead and earning the two tough road points.

The Men will have another busy week of practice before heading out on the road again Saturday to play divisional opponent Kingston at 4:45 at the Invista Centre.
