Major Midgets Gear up for Ottawa Tournament
After a solid 4-1-1 start through the first 6 games of league play, the McInroy Maines Major Midget Devils are heading to our Nations Capital to take on some of Ontario's best in tournament action. The Devils split the weekend with games against the Central Ontario Wolves and Richmond Hill Cyotes.
Friday October 9th the boys were eager to open up at home with the win, Brock Bronson, Colin Vandenhurk, Tanner Sheppard and Domenic Della Civita did the scoring with Anthony Bertucca only allowing one goal through 55 minutes. Assists went to Vandenhurk (2), Della Civita, Bronson, Thomas, Greg Powles and Tim Morton. It was truly an all around team effort on this night.
Saturday, the boys showed some uncharacteristic mistakes and fell down quickly 4-0 half way through the second period, Greg Thomas put the team on the score sheet which proved to be all the scoring that would be done on this day for both teams as the rest of the game was back and forth with the Devils getting back to their brand of hockey but not finding the back of the net.
The Devils head off to the Ottawa for the Senators Major Midget AAA Showcase.
