Weekly Report Jan. 29
The Madison Excavating Major Atoms sealed another three wins in league play this week and added 6 points to their top spot standing in the east.


 
Wednesday the Devils hosted their sponsor appreciation evening at QSWC and took on the Kingston Jr. Frontenacs. The Devils played hard for the hometown crowd and dazzled them with a 6-2 win. Carson Campbell opened up the scoring on a short handed, unassisted goal in the first.  The second saw the Devils add another 2 goals, one each from Thomas Kuipers and Kirk Stevenson. Assisted by Liam Philip, Landon Wright and Brody Partridge. The Devils kept up the pressure adding 3 to the scoreboard before the close of the game. Kuipers picked up the hat trick with another 2 goals in the third, assisted by Braedyn Rogers and Gage Butcher. Philip scored as well on the set up from Kuipers. Glenn McInnes and Dean Spry shared net minding duties for the sponsors crowd.
 
Saturday had the Devils hosting back at their home ice in Marmora to face the Peterborough Petes. It was the Petes who struck first and had Quinte racing to catch up. Ty Therrien on the set up from Beckett Ewart and Deacon Ellis, opened scoring and tied the game in the second. Quinte continued to battled and work from behind but finally turned on the offence in the third. Scoring in the third were Butcher (2) and the game winner from Philip. Assists came from Kuipers (2), Philip, Rogers and Butcher. Dean Spry protected the Quinte cage in the 4-3 victory.
 
Sunday saw the Devils on the road to Little Britain to take on the Central Ontario Wolves.  The Devils played a strong game and skated their way to a 8-0 win. Scoring details were unavailable at media time and will be shared with next week's report. Glenn McInnes recorded the shut out. 
 
On Deck;  The Madison Excavating Major Atoms will be in Pickering on Wednesday to face the Ajax-Pickering Raiders. Home game in Napanee on Saturday at 2pm verses Whitby. The Devils will hit the road for a game on Sunday in Clarington to take on the Toros.
