On Saturday Jan 28, the Foley Bus Lines Major Peewee Red
Devils hit the road to take on the Clarington Toros. In end to end action; the Devils and Toros
skated to a scoreless game until late in the third period, when the Devils took
a penalty with just under 3 min left in the game. The Toros scored on the power play with just
under 2 min left to take the lead 1 to 0. Despite pulling the goalie, the Devils
couldn’t find the back of the Clarington net, and fell to the Toros 1 to
0. Corbin Votary played a solid game in
the Devils net, stopping 29 of 30 shots.
On Sunday Jan 29, the Bus Liners hosted the York Simcoe Express in Madoc. The Devils were fired up, following the tough loss to Clarington on the previous day, and came out strong. Corbin Roach lit the lamp just 8 seconds into the game following a series of passes from Trevor Hoskin and Donovan McCoy. Just minutes later, Corbin Roach scored his second goal from Hoskin and McCoy once again. 26 seconds after the second goal, Corbin Roach completed the hat trick with his third goal of the game, once again from Trevor Hoskin and Dalyn Wakely. Dalyn Wakely scored with 4 min left in the first to give the Devils a 4 to 0 lead going into the 2nd frame. Assisting on the Wakely goal was Trevor Hoskin and Corbin Roach. The Express would strike first in the 2nd frame on a power play goal, but the Devils would respond with three more goals. Corbin Roach would score his fourth goal of the game on feeds from Trevor Hoskin and Dalyn Wakely. Dalyn Wakely scored his second of the game on feeds from Donvan McCoy and Parker Stewart. The final goal of the second period saw Dalyn Wakely complete his hat trick with a short-handed goal on a pass from Corbin Roach. The Devils entered the third period with a 7 to 1 lead. In the third, the Devils would add one more as Sami Douglas-Najem scored from the point on passes from Connor Hunt and Liam Filip. Final score was 8 to 1 for the Devils. Corbin Roach racked up a hat trick with a 6-point game (4 goals and 2 assists). Dalyn Wakely also grabbed a hat trick in a 5-point game (3 goals and 2 assists). Trevor Hoskin also had a 5-point game with 5 assists. Andrew Munro made some brilliant saves to provide strength in the Devils cage.
