Weekly Report January 29, 2017
The Vanderlaan Building Products Minor Bantams had three games this past week earning 5 points.
On January 25th, Quinte hosted the Kingston Jr Frontenacs. Kingston would open the scoring in first period taking a 1-0 lead. Nathanial Burelle would tie the game with a goal midway through the second period assisted by Connor Brooks. Kingston answered back to take the lead 2-1 going into the third. With the time winding down and less than a minute remaining Brock Kelsh found the back of the net to tie the game 2-2. Conner Brooks assisting. In the final seconds Quinte got another goal by Ethan Broek, assisting was Ben White. Dixon Grimes was solid between the pipes for the win. Aiden Treverton was awarded player of the game.
Saturday January 28th, the Red Devils hosted the Oshawa Generals. Quinte came out strong scoring in the first minute of play with a goal from Brock Kelsh. Assisted by Clayton Farrow and Ethan Broek. Oshawa took the lead 2-1 halfway through the second but the Devils would put two quick goals in the net from Aiden Treverton and Zack Brooks. Helpers from Jett Butler and Brock Kelsh. Heading into the third and leading Oshawa 3-2 the Devils continued to control the game. Jett Butler would secure the win netting two goals, assisted by Ben White and Daniel Michaud. Devils win with a final score of 5-2. Ethan Fraser was in net for the win. Jett Butler was awarded player of the game.
The third game of the week had Quinte travelling to Clarington on Sunday to take on the Toros. The Toros opened the scoring first period. The Devils answered back early in the second with a goal by Daniel Michaud. Aiden Treverton and Lucas Culhane with the assists. Both teams would battle back and forth with the game ending in a 1-1 tie. Dixon Grimes was in net.
