The Pond at Rhino Sports and Playland Minor Midgets at the OHL Cup
The Pond at Rhino Sports and Playland Minor finished their 2016-2017 season with a 4-0 loss to the Toronto Young Nationals on Friday.

Game #1 – Mississauga Rebels (5-1L)

The Red Devils skated with potentially the best team in the province during the opening period but succumbed to a daunting team with a great power play as they lost 5-1. Ethan Taylor was in net for the loss and played well stopping 35 of the shots he faced. The loan Quinte goal was scored by Logan White and assisted by Emmet Pierce and Jake Campbell. Player of the Game honours for the Quinte Red Devils went to Cameron Supryka.

 

Game #2 – Cambridge Hawks (4-1W)

The Red Devils needed a better game to get things moving in the right direction and came up with a better performance beating the Hawks 4-1 as Brennan Bush stopped 22 of the shots he faced. Goals were scored by Graham Dickerson, Jake Campbell, Zach Uens and Matt Cawker while assists went to Derrick Vos, Emmet Pierce(3), Graham Dickerson, Jake Campbell and Cameron Supryka(2). Player of the Game honours for the Quinte Red Devils went to Emmet Pierce.

 

Game #3 – EHG (Elite Hockey Group-USA) (7-2L)

The Devils opened the scoring but saw the EHG team storm back for seven unanswered goals to win the game. Brennan Bush and Ethan Taylor split the duties between the pipes in the loss. Goals were scored by Michael Andrews(2) while assists went to Keegan Hunt, Jake Campbell and Dalton Bancroft. Player of the Game honours for the Quinte Red Devils went to Michael Andrews.

 

Game #4 – Toronto Young Nationals (4-0L)

The Red Devils played a hard fought game but came up short and lost their final game of a very successful season. Ethan Taylor was in net for the loss while stopping 27 of 31 shots he faced. Player of the Game honours for the Quinte Red Devils went to Michael Andrews.
