Weekly Report Oct. 2-8
The Madison Excavating Minor Peewee Quinte Red Devils hosted their first home games in regular season this Thanksgiving weekend. The Devils skated their way to 3 points with a tie and a win.

Saturday had Quinte playing host to the top ranked team in the West as the Markham Waxers rolled into town.  In a very high paced game the Devils and the Waxers went back and forth for the duration of all three periods. Matching both speed and scoring opportunities, play was relentlessly back and forth. Defensively, both teams worked hard to shut eachother down. Dean Spry was stellar in net, securing the shut out and making it a 0-0 tie game final.

Sunday, the Devils hosted the Central Ontario Predators in the Madoc arena. The first period would end in a 0-0 tie and it was not until later in the second with a shot from the point by Ben Danford, assisted by Beckett Ewart and Jared Langdon, that the Devils would take the lead of the game. The third period saw Quinte tack on another 5 goals to take a convincing 6-0 win. Scoring in the third was Danford, Liam Philip(2), Ty Therrien and Langdon. Assists came from Langdon, Danford, Brody Partridge and Landon Wright. Mike McIvor was solid all game long for the Devils and secured the second shut out for the weekend for the team.

On Deck: Saturday, Oct. 14 at Quinte verses Barrie Colts 2:15pm at QSWC. Sunday, Oct. 15 Quinte takes to the road to face the Express in York-Simcoe at 4:30pm.
