Weekly Report Feb. 19-25
The Madison Excavating Minor Peewees swept the first round of playoffs in their third straight win over the Oshawa Generals last Wednesday at QSWC.
With 2 wins already the Devils went into the game looking to make it a clean sweep through the first round of ETA playoffs but the Generals were fighting to stay alive and came out to battle.
It was Oshawa striking first in the game with 2 unanswered goals in the first period. The Devils were undettered and battled back in the second to get on the scoreboard with a goal from Landon Wright, assisted by Brody Partridge and Gage Butcher. Liam Philip would make it a tie game before the end of the second on the set up from Thomas Kuipers. The third period would be all Quinte as Kuipers would get the go ahead goal on the assist from Butcher and Ben Vreugdenhil would seal it up with a security goal to make it 4-2 Devils. Assisting on the final goal was Carson Campbell. Mike McIvor was strong in net for the Devils.
On Deck; The Madison Excavating Minor Peewees will face the Ajax-Pickering Raiders in the second round. Game one will be Saturday in Cobourg at 1:30pm.
