The Free Flow Petroleum Minor Midget season opener weekend
The Quinte Free Flow Petroleum Minor Midgets kicked off their regular season this weekend with a home opener against the Whitby Wildcats. There was no score until the second period when Brady Darrach opened up the scoreboard with an unassisted goal for Quinte. Whitby quickly answered with two power play goals in the second. Quinte was able to score a power play goal in the third by Ben White with an assist from Gavin Camp effectively tieing up the game. Unfortunately the Wildcats scored two more in the third period to ultimately win the game 4-2. Ethan Fraser was in net.
Next the Minor Midgets traveled to Clarington on Sunday to play the Toros. An empty net by the Toros sealed the game. Quinte lost 4-2. Goals scored by Maguire Shortt and Daniel Michaud with assists from Luke LaPalm, Ben White, Gavin Camp and Erik MacNiel. Alex Lucas was in net.
