Minor Midget Weekly Report Feb 4- 10
The Free Flow Petroleum Minor Midget Quinte Red Devils had an action packed week.  They beat out the Peterborough Petes 3 games to 1 in the first round of the OMHA play downs.  Then played three matches against the second round opponents the North Central Predators

In the fourth and final game of round one of playoffs the team defeated Peterborough in a 3-0 shutout.  Zack Brooks sniped the first goal in the last minute of play in the first period while Daniel Michaud and Connor Brooks notched assists.  Shortly into the second period Jett Butler found the back of the net with a pass from Luke LaPalm on a power play.  Connor Brooks point shot later in the second with a pass from Michaud sealed the score at 3-0.  Ethan Fraser played great to earn the shutout in net.

Friday night the team travelled to Orillia to play the first game of the second series against the North Central Predators.  Quinte's Zack Brooks was first to score midway through the first period with assists from Clayton Farrow and  Nathaniel Burelle.  NCP went on to score two power play goals  in the second to take the lead going into the third period.  Another goal from NCP in the third left Quinte trailing 3-1.  However the boys didn't give up and Michaud scored a short handed breakaway goal from a long pass by Ben White.  Next LaPalm tipped one in on a power play with assists to  Zack and Connor Brooks.  The game went into overtime with Quinte coming away with the win when Burelle found the back of the net with an assist from Michaud.  Ethan Fraser had a great game between the pipes.  Final score 4-3 QRD.

The second matchup of the series was the next evening back at home.  A pass from Ben White to Zack Brooks on a power play midway through the first period put Quinte on the board first.  NCP scored before the period ended to tie it up.  The second period was scoreless until the four minute mark when the Preds scored again to take the lead and then again in the third.  Michaud registered a point in the third but Quinte lost with a final score of 3-2.  Fraser was in net.

Game three saw the teams back at it again Sunday night in Trenton.  First period action saw the Preds take the lead.  Second period Michaud  found the back of the net, White and Zack Brooks notched assists on the power play to tie it up.  Quinte continued to score in the third period with LaPalm scoring twice and Dalyn Wakely and Michaud (2)  picking up assists.  Cole Lavender made the final score 4-1 QRD with an empty net goal.  Alex Lucas registered the win in net.
