Foley Bus Lines Major Bantams are the OMHA CHAMPS!!!
Next stop OHF’s for the Major Bantams next week!

Your Devils’ travelled to St. Andrews College on the weekend to attend the OMHA Championships.  York Simcoe Express was the host as they were the winner from last year’s OMHA’s.  The other 4 teams were the top 2 seeded teams from the ETA, The Quinte Red Devils and Ajax-Pickering Raiders along with the Southern Tier Admirals and Guelph Gryphons from the SCTA.

After each team played 2 games on day one there were 3 teams tied with 3 points each and 2 teams were tied with 1 point each.  It was too early to tell which teams would advance to the Bronze medal game and Gold medal game on Sunday.  Your Devils started off a little slower than normal and were one of the teams with only 1 point.

On Saturday morning the boys decided to take matters into their own hands and win their 3rd game of the tournament 8-2.  The Devils would play the last game of the day and by then would know exactly what they had to do to move on to Sunday.  There were three teams tied with 4 points each with only one game remaining in the tournament.  All eyes were on this game as the outcome decided many teams fate for Sunday.  If the Devils win or tie they move onto the Gold medal game.  If they lose then they go home, so this was a very big game.  The boys continued there great TEAM play and went on to win 6-0 over the York Simcoe Express.

It was the top team from the ETA vs the top team from the SCTA in the Gold Medal Game.  There was a lot riding on this game as the winner gets to be the host for next year as well as secure a spot in the OHL Cup.  Not to mention bringing home the OMHA Trophy.

The picture says it all as the Major Bantams defeat the Southern Tier Admirals 4-1 and win GOLD!!!

Next stop is the OHF’s next week in Toronto.

A couple of honorable mentions as Corbin Votary recorded his 10th shutout of the season and Cooper Matthews recorded his 50th goal of the season.

Congratulations to the boys, coaching staff and families for a very successful weekend and season.  The boys deserve most of the credit but without great coaching and supporting families the team could not have won the biggest tournament of the year.
