Tough loss for the Devils
The Pita Pit Minor PeeWees played the Peterborough Petes on home ice at the Wellness Centre on Saturday. It was a tight divisional game as the Red Devils prevailed in this one 1-0. Rylan McCormack snipped one from the top of the circle off the post and in, assisted by Evan Erwin and Christian Sokoljuk. Reece Herman held his own in net with some great saves throughout the game to secure the shutout.
The Red Devils headed to Whitby on Sunday afternoon for another divisional tilt. It was a back and forth game with lots of penalties handed out in the game. Ben Sherwin scored on a rebound to tie the game at 1-1, assisted by Deke Osterhout and Mason Musclow. Sherwin would tie the game again at 2-2 with a backhand from a pass by Kaiden Harmon. Sherwin capped off his big night with his third of the game to tie it 3-3 assists went to Osterhout and Mason Boyer. Harmon fired one top corner to give the Devils a 4-3 lead. Unfortunately the wildcats scored 2 goals in the last minute to defeat the Devils 5-4. Liam Boyer was in net for Quinte.
