Peewee Weekly Report Feb. 17th
The Madison Excavating Peewee team finished up the season in first place in the East division of the ETA.
Running into some penalty trouble in Fenelon Falls, Quinte lost to the Central Ontario Wolves 3-1. Ben Danford with the only goal on the set up from Jared Langdon. Dean Spry covered the net minding.
Quinte turned it around the following day to take 2 points with a 2-1 win over Whitby. Goals from Jared Langdon and Beckett Ewart. Assists from Landon Wright, Braedyn Rogers and Caleb Martin. Mike McIvor was in net for the win.
Midweek this past week the Devils were in Oshawa to face the General. Securing another 2 points with a 5-2 victory. Goals came from Ewart(2), Rogers, Wright and Brody Partridge. Assisting in the game
were Deacon Ellis, Partridge(2) and Thomas Kuipers. Dean Spry took the win between the pipes.
The final game of the season on Saturday had the Peewees in Richmond Hill to face the Coyotes. The Devils went goalless and took a 2-0 loss. McIvor in net. Though it may not have been the finish these Devils were looking for, this team is ready to head into playoffs and redeem themselves as the face the fourth place Wolves.
First round of playoffs start this weekend at the CAA Arena on Saturday verses the Central Ontario Wolves. The Peewees are the gold medal OMHA Champions from the 2017/18 season and will host the tournament in Belleville at the CAA Arena March 22-24, 2019.
