The Rhino Sports Minor Atom's started their first playoff round against the Clarington Toros. Quinte hosted Clarington in Madoc on Saturday to get things started.
Both teams were working hard and the game was scoreless until the third period when Jake Gawley, from Keegan Goulah, found the back of the net. Gawley would score again from Seth Scaletta. Quinte was up 2-0 as the game was coming to an end. Jonas McCoy got an empty net goal for the last goal of the game. Charlie Vos was strong in net and got the shut out for the 3-0 win.
On Sunday, the team traveled down the highway for game two. Much like Saturday, both teams were working hard and looking for a win. Clarington scored first at the end of the second period. Quinte came out strong in the third period, when Ryan Foley made a pass to Brody Harrison who put it in the net! Chase Cybulskie and Grayson Hunt each scored a goal and Quinte took the 3-1 win for another two points. Goaltender, Daniel Yeo, keep the team in the game.
Quinte looks to take another two points on Wednesday and finish the series against the Toros and move on to round two!
