Devils kept pace in the ETA standings for a shot at first place with a couple
more wins this past week in league action. Happy Halloween had the locals
hosting the Clarington Toros to the Mackay Pad in a goaltending battle that stayed
scoreless till the last seconds of the middle frame when the hometown team went
up 1-0.
Midway through the third, QRD added an insurance marker before tacking on an empty netter to take the contest with a 3-0 final. This past Saturday the minor midgets traveled to Ajax-Pickering looking to sweep the 3 game season series with the Raiders and add another two crucial points in the standings. The special teams giveth and taketh away in this one as the Devils used a couple shorthanded goals to build up to a 4-1 lead and then held on through a penalty filled third to come away with a 4-3 victory.
