Weekly Report - Sept. 16-22
The Quinte Minor Bantams took to the road this past weekend to face the North Central Predators and the Barrie Colts. Saturday had the Devils face the Predators in their home rink at Rama.
It was the Devils who struck first near the close of the first set to take a 1-0 lead - Nolan Donnelly on the set up by Thomas Kuipers. The second period was in the Preds favour as they took a 3-1 lead. The Devils would fight to the dying seconds of the game scoring with seconds left on a shot by Beckett Ewart, assisted by Ben Vreugdenhil and Deacon Ellis. Quinte succumbed to a 5-2 loss. Mike McIvor was in net. Sunday would see the Devils take on the Barrie Colts. The Devils came out strong scoring 3 in the first to take a 3-1 lead. Scoring in the first were Gage Butcher, Donnelly and Kuipers. Assisting on the goals were Vreugdenhil, Liam Storms, Braedyn Rogers, Landon Wright and Brody Partridge. Both teams would add one to the scoreboard in the second. For QRD it was Donnelly from Ben Danford and Jared Langdon for the Devils. Langdon, assisted by Danford and Wright would make it a 5-2 final victory for Quinte. Glen McInnes was in net. The Minor Bantams will be back in action on the road Oct. 1 in Oshawa.
