Our Minor Peewee’s made their mark on the scoreboard early, as Kaden Koutroulides opened the scoring for the season with a pass from Jack Foley. Playing in net was Katste Brant. Quinte continued the pressure closing the first period with a 2-0 lead, after a goal by Riley Reid (assisted by: Jacob Moore and Blake Brown).Maintaining momentum in the second period, the Minor Peewee’s expanded their lead, to 4-0, with goals by Noah Lesser (assisting was Ryland Cunningham and Brown) and Koutroulides with his second of the day (from Cunningham and Foley). To keep the scoring consistent between periods, Quinte split the third period goals with the Predators, both teams netting two. Not slowing down, Quinte took advantage of a Predators penalty, scoring was Cunningham (Foley and Carson Lynch) . The team’s final goal was scored by Moore (Foley and Tavin MacDonald), leading to a comfortable 6-2 win, in the season opener! The team went into Sunday’s game anticipating a battle with the highly ranked Barrie Jr. Colts. The first bracket met their expectations, with a hard fought game at hand. Anchoring the team was Cohen Bedore between the pipes. There was no score in the first, until nearing the end of the period, when Matthew Airhart was set up by Owen Rivers and Cooper Kelly.Barrie then matched our goal and raised us one, taking a 2-1 lead in the game. Offering Quinte a power play opportunity Jack Foley (unassisted) capitalized, tying the game, 2-2.Barrie then added two more to their score; ending the game with a 4-2 loss, for Quinte.Next up: Friday, the Minor Peewee's visit Kingston, on Saturday is their home opening versus Central Ontario Wolves (2pm start at the QSWC in Belleville).
