The Stampkrete QRD U12’s travelled to Peterborough this past Saturday to take on a strong Pete’s team. Shots and scoring chances were few and far between as both teams battled hard for every square inch of ice.
After a scoreless opening period, Maeve Aird would blast home a powerplay goal from the point, with assists going to Joey Seguin and Easton Thompson. Peterborough would answer quickly with a powerplay marker of their own evening the score at 1 a piece heading into the 3rd. After a hard fought 3rdperiod, the game would remain tied 1-1 with Ryerson Swan getting the tie in net for QRD.
On Sunday, the Stampkrete QRD U12’s travelled to Whitby to take on the Wildcats for the first time this season. Whitby would open the scoring first, before Brechyn Aird blasted home a point shot on the powerplay with assists going to M. Aird and Seguin. Shortly after, Lauchlan Whelan gave QRD the lead with a crafty wrap around goal after receiving a pass from Ewan Dahle. Whitby would answer back taking a 3-2 lead going into the 3rdperiod, before Drew Wright sprung Dawson Chalk on a breakaway. With a nifty deke on the breakaway, Chalk would tie the game at 3 a piece which would end up being the final score. Ryerson Swan again took the tie in net for QRD.
