in action after the break, the
U14 Free Flow Petroleum Red Devils had a busy
weekend, participating in the 20K Sock Day Challenge and picking up 4 of 6
points.
This weekend, the U14 Quinte Red Devils participated in a sock collection drive known as the 20K Sock Day, which is hosted by the We Be Us organization in support of charities across Canada. The U14 team collected over 838 pairs of socks (!!) which they donated to Belleville’s Grace Inn Shelter. Great work boys!
The Free Flow Petroleum U14s also had a busy run on the ice during their first hockey weekend of 2022. Friday night, they headed to Kingston where they battled through a physical game. Cohen Bedore standing solid in net, the U14s left with a 5-3 victory over the Kingston Jr. Gaels. Earning points for the Devils were: Ryan Babbs (assisted by Matthew Airhart and Noah Lesser), Jacob Moore (Airhart and Jack Foley), Foley (unassisted), Kaden Koutroulides (unassisted), and Lesser (assisted by Moore).
Saturday evening the U14s took their second road trip of the weekend to face off against the Peterborough Petes. Despite strong play from the net out, the Red Devils fell to the hosts, Katste Brant taking the 2-0 loss in net.
A quick turn-around between games, with Sunday offering the Free Flow Petroleum U14s their turn to play on home ice, as Clarington Toros visited the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre. With a clear change in the narrative, the Devils took a lead late in the first and maintained their momentum. Points this game, coming from: Jack Foley (3 goals and 1 assist), Tavin MacDonald (1 goal and 2 assists), Ryan Babbs (3 assists), Liam Campbell (2 goals), Jake Campbell (1 goal and 1 assist), Mathew Airhart (2 assists), Kaden Koutroulides (2 assists). Cooper Kelly, Jacob Moore and Graydon Walst, each with an assist. Cohen Bedore in net for Sunday’s 7-2 win.
Next week’s action has the U14s hosting Kingston on Sunday at 12:30pm at QSWC.
