The Quinte McInroy-Maines Construction U18 Red Devils picked up 1 win and 2 ties to wrap up their ETA regular season this week.
On Tuesday, in a 4-2 win over the Peterborough Petes, Aiden Haller-Brady, Bailey Pipe, Tyson Carr and Trent Williams scored while Carr (2), Ethan Osborne, Carter McKee, Jack Dever, Spencer Horgan, Ryan Turney and Pipe picked up assists. Devils of the Day were Kellen Dostaler, Bailey Pipe, Aiden Haller-Brady and goaltender Brady Spry.
Saturday saw the team brave a snowy drive to Port Perry to play a game that finished in a 3-3 tie with the Central Ontario Wolves. QRD gave up two late goals to pick up one point. Jack Dever, Jack Lowry and Tyson Carr scored in the win while Trent Williams, Liam Reid and Alex Delisle picked up assists. Brayden Friedrich earned the point between the pipes. Devils of the Day were Trent Williams, Jack Lowry and Kellen Dostaler.
In a sudden death game to determine second place in the ETA league standings on Monday, QRD got two goals in the final 3:30 to earn a 2-2 tie against the Oshawa Generals. The single point was all QRD needed to finish the regular season in second place. Jack Dever and Cooper Kellar found the back of the net while Trent Williams and Tyson Carr each added two assists. Brady Spry was between the pipes for QRD while Devil of the Day was awarded to the whole team for their inspired effort.
The U18s finish the regular season with a record of 18-4-8 and 20-5-10 overall. The team is currently ranked second in the OMHA and will open the playoff season this Thursday against the Clarington Toros at 9pm at QSWC- Mackey pad.
