The Foley Bus Lines QRD U10's Are International Silver Stick Quarter Finalists
The Foley Bus Lines U10 Red Devils had a good run in Whitby at the International Silver Stick tournament playing against some of North America's top teams but would eventually loose in the Quarter Finals.

In their first game of the tournament on Thursday afternoon they faced off against the York Simcoe Express. Quinte would come out strong and skate to a 8-1 win. Red Devil goals were scored by Ethan Dowling (2), Kash Nelson, Max Norton, Noah Gilchrist, Matt Dawson, Will Beebe and Graydon Tucker. Picking up assists were Gilchrist (2), Norton (2), Nelson (2), Malkin Courtney (2), Dowling, Beebe, Dawson, Ryker Thompson and Jaxon Elrick.

Blake Laurin was solid in net, picking up the win. Ryker Thompson was named Player of the game.

 

Friday morning Quinte would take on the Cumberland Jr. Grads and picked up their second win of the tournament with a 5-1 win. Goals were scored by Evan Andrews (2), Ethan Dowling, Max Norton and Will Beebe. Assists in the game went to Kash Nelson (3), Andrews, Beebe and Noah Gilchrist. Lily Groeneveld had a great game picking up the win between the pipes and Jaxon Elrick was named player of the game.

 

Friday afternoon they would take on a strong Boston Minuteman Flames team. Quinte had a great all around game and would come out on top 4-2. Max Norton would score all four of Quinte’s goals. Assists went to Noah Gilchrist (2) and Matt Dawson. Blake Laurin was once again solid in net and Max Norton was named player of the game.

 

Saturday afternoon they played their last round robin game against another strong team from the States, the Pittsburgh Jr Penguins. It was a thrilling game with Quinte coming out on top 4-2 (empty net). Evan Andrews and Matt Dawson each had two goals in the game. Assists went to Andrews, Kash Nelson and Ethan Dowling. Lily Groeneveld made some highlight reel saves getting the win in net and was also named player of the game.

 

After going 4-0 in round robin play, they would play in Sunday morning’s quarter finals against the Middlesex Islanders out of Massachusetts. It was another exciting game but Quinte came out on the losing end of a 4-2 score (empty net), ending their tournament run. Kash Nelson and Matt Dawson would score in the game and Graydon Tucker picked up an assist. Blake Laurin made a lot of key saves but picked up the loss in net.

 

ON DECK: The Foley Bus Lines U10 Red Devils will host the Mississauga Reps for two exhibition games on Saturday. Both games are at the QSWC (Mackay) at 11:30am and 4:30pm. Sunday it is back to league play with a home game vs Kingston at 1:30pm at the QSWC (CAA).
