On Thursday, which was their only game of the week, they travelled to Whitby to take on the Wildcats.
Quinte opened the scoring less than a minute into the game, when
Evan Andrews scored an unassisted marker. The Red Devils would score the only
other goal of the period when Will Beebe scored from Cohen Reid. The score
after the first period was 2-0 for Quinte.
The second period Whitby came out flying as they would score
three times. Quinte had their chances but couldn’t find the back of the net.
The score after two periods was 3-2 for The Wildcats.
Whitby would score a powerplay goal seven minutes into the third
period, making the score 4-2. Quinte would pull their goalie with time winding
down in the period and Andrews would score his second of the game with 1:09
remaining, making it 4-3. Picking up assists were Noah Gilchrist and Kash
Nelson. In the dying seconds, The Red Devils had their chances to tie the game
but couldn’t put one past the Whitby goalie.
Lily Groeneveld made some key saves for Quinte but picked up the
loss in net.
Quinte now has 5 wins and 1 loss in ETA playoff action, with two
games remaining.
ON DECK: The Foley Bus Lines U10 Red Devils are on a March Break
game break until Saturday, March 18th when they travel to Oshawa for
a 12:45pm game. Sunday, March 19th they are in Marmora for their
last playoff game, when they take on Markham at 2:30pm.
