The Bonn Law QRD U12 Team Celebrated their sponsors this weekend at home.
The
Bonn Law QRD U12 Team, celebrated their team and individual player sponsors at
our home game on Saturday in Marmora. The team welcomed family, friends and sponsors
and treated them to an excited 3-2 win over The Whitby Wildcats.
After a
scoreless first period, the Devils got on the board with 5 minutes left in the second
period, when Cameron Stevens buried a beauty pass from James Gullage. Mason
Whalen gave his team a 2 goal lead, when he scored a late in the third period
on a great passing play from Noah Hughes and Thomas Marsden. The Wildcats did
not back down and took advantage of a power play late in the game to come back
and score two goals in just over a minute, to tie the game with 27 seconds left
on the clock. The Red Devils took charge on the next faceoff, and Mason Whalen
would bang home the game winner with just .2 seconds left in the game. Dax Sage
was solid between the pipes for the win. Mason Whalen was named player of the
game.
On Sunday,
The Red Devils headed west along the 401 to take on the hard-working Oshawa
Generals. This time, the team found themselves down by a pair of goals half way
through the first period. Once again, it was Mason Whalen who got the
team rolling when he scored off of a great pass from Noah Hughes. Thomas Marsden
evened the score early in the second period on a shot from the point, assisted by
Zachary Miedema. The Red Devils would go on to score 2 more unanswered goals
(Shea Teather and Zach Miedema), on their way to a 4-2 win over The Generals.
Mason Whalen and Edmund Dowling also added assists in the game. Matt Travers
was sharp between the pipes in the win, and Edmund Dowling was named player of
the game.
On Deck: The Bonn Law QRD Red Devils have 2 games left in
the regular season. Wednesday February 15th @ Kingston 6:30 pm and
Saturday 1:00 @ Colborne, when they host The Clarington Toros.
