Gillespies Tree Service QRD U13’s Weekly Report - Dec 5, 2022
On Wednesday November 30th the Kingston Jr Gaels rolled into the CAA arena to face the 12-2-1 Gillespie’s Tree Service Quinte U13 Red Devils.
The Red Devils got out to an early lead with goals from Liam Marion and Easton Thompson but it was soon erased as the Red Devils found themselves in penalty trouble. Kingston scored two Power play goals to tie it up. Quinte rallied back with two goals from Captain Lauchlan Whelan to lead the Red Devils to a 4-2 win. Assists went to Andrew Laurin, Coen Lowry and call up Lawson Minifie. Ryerson Swan was solid in the pipes for the win.
On Friday the Red Devils battled Huron Perth in the Hamilton Jr Bulldogs Tournament. It was the first of two games that day. Nathan Ferriss started in net and got the 5-1 win with a solid performance. Brechyn Aird, Lauchlan Whelan, Joey Seguin, Coen Lowry and Ewan Dahle scored for the Red Devils. Jax Martin Easton Thompson, Trent Clow, Drew Wright added assists in a strong played game by the Red Devils.
That night, Quinte faced the hometown Bulldogs and were just too much for the Bulldogs. Lauchlan Whelan scored 3 for the Red Devils as Ewan Dahle, Coen Lowry, Jax Martin and Trent Clow added singles for a 7-3 win. Ryerson Swan was solid in net. Spencer Harold, Andrew Laurin 3, Jax Martin, Liam Marion and Joey Seguin added assists.
On Saturday with two more games on the docket, Quinte faced Waterloo in the morning. Captain Trent Clow had the hot hand and scored 3 goals for the natural hat trick as the Red Devils won 5-2. Ryder Hooey scored his first of the season from the point and Coen Lowry added the other goal. Nathan Ferris got the win in net and Easton Thompson, Ewan Dahle, Andrew Laurin 2 and Liam Marion added assists.
That night Quinte faced the farthest team to the west in Ontario the Windsor Jr Spitfires. Ryerson Swan got the start and was solid in the pipes as Quinte won their fourth in a row 5-2. Lauchlan Whelan had 2 goals, Ewan Dahle, Trent Clow and Brechyn Aird scored off the rush with a rocket in the top shelf. Easton Thompson , Andrew Laurin, Jax Martin, Joey Seguin, Spencer Harold and Ryder Hooey added assists.
On Sunday morning Quinte faced Kingston for the second time in 5 days but came up short losing 3-2 in the Semis. Unfortunately it wasn't the result they wanted.
The Gillespie Tree Service U13’s are back home Tuesday in Marmora against the rival Peterborough Petes @ 7pm in Marmora. Thursday night they battle the Central Ontario Wolves @ 6pm in Baltimore and then we see the North Central Predators Saturday @ 12:30 in Baltimore.
