The McInroy Maines U18 Red Devils had a very busy week this past week with 2 home games and 2 games on the road. 

Midweek match up number one was against the Clarington Toros at RCAF on Tuesday. In a game that simply would not go in the favour of the Devils, a scoreless first lead to the Quinte team being down by a goal in the second. Scoring for the Devils was Justin Murdoch, assisted by Liam Storms and Trent Williams. Another scoreless period in the third set would see the Devils succumb to a 2-1 loss. Glen McInnes was in net for the loss.

Midweek number two was the following day as the Devils hosted the Central Ontario Wolves at RCAF on Wednesday. After the unexpected tough loss the day before, the team wasted no time at all adding points to the scoreboard. The first saw only one goal coming from Wyatt Gregory, assisted by Thomas Elkins but the second and third would see another 10 goals added for the Devils. Scoring in the second were Keenan Wiles(2), Joey Coates and Gregory. Assists from Thomas Kuipers(2), Cooper Kellar, Ben Vreugdenhil, Williams and Elkins. The third was all offence with goals from Murdoch, Williams, Kuipers(2), Beau Reade and Elkins. Assisting in the third Wiles, Gregory(2), Elkins(2), Vreugdenhil(2), Murdoch, Woolley, Ty McCambridge and Williams. Final score was 11-4 Devils. Dean Spry was in net for the win.

Friday had the Devils on the road to St. Andrew’s College to face the York Simcoe Express. After a quiet scoreless first period, both teams hit the scoreboard in the second. Scoring for Quinte was Wiles on the set up from Vreugdenhil and Deacon Ellis. Another scoreless third would see the Devils settle for the 1-1 tie. McInnes in net for the tie.

The Quinte team was back on the road Sunday as they started a 3 game back to back series with the Peterborough Petes. After a close first, both teams were sitting with one point on the board. Scoring for the Devils was Cooper Kellar on the set up from Justin Murdoch. After both teams were held off the scoreboard in the second, the Devils sealed their victory with 2 goals in the third to make it a 3-1 win over the Petes. Scoring for Quinte was Rylan Reid, assisted by Kuipers and Wiles, unassisted. Dean Spry was between the pipes for the win.

On Deck : The McInroy Maines U18 Quinte Red Devils will host the Petes on Thursday at QSWC and head back up to Peterborough to meet the Petes again on Sunday.
