QRD U18 Weekly Report Jan. 16, 2023
The McInroy Maines U18 Quinte Red Devils had a quieter week with just one game over the weekend as they took to the road on Sunday to face the Clarington Toros.
The Devils wasted no time hitting the scoreboard as Carter McKee opened the game with a goal 13 seconds in on the set up from Trent Williams and Joey Coates. Justin Murdoch would add an unassisted goal followed by Coates, assisted by Jared Woolley and Thomas Kuipers. The Toros would sneak one in the Devils net before the end of the first making it 3-1 headed into the second set. The second period would see the Quinte crew pad their lead with 6 unanswered goals. Scoring came from McKee, Ben Vreugdenhil, Deacon Ellis, Murdoch, Beau Reade and Thomas Elkins. Assisting in the second were Williams, Vreugdenhil, Ellis, Elkins and Murdoch. The third would prove to be a quieter period with a scoreless outcome and finishing with a dominant 9-1 win for the Devils. Glen McInnes was between the pipes for the win.
On Deck: The McInroy Maines U18 QRD team will host the Kingston Gaels at the QSWC on Tuesday and then will head to the Peterborough Steve Richey Tournament late in the week.
