QRD U18 Weekly Report Feb. 6, 2023
The McInroy Maines U18 Red Devils were busy this past week resulting in a tie, a loss and a win as they took on Oshawa, Richmond Hill and Clarington.

Games for the week started with a trip to Oshawa to face the Generals. The Devils lead the game coming out of the first with 2 goals from Gage Butcher and Trent Williams, assisted by Luke Jarmin and Keenan Wiles. The second set would see the score end the set at 3-2 Devils as Ben Vreugdenhil added to the scoreboard on the set up from Williams. Joey Coates would add one in the third on the pass from Jared Woolley but the Generals battled to the end and snuck two in the tie the game in the late minutes of the game. Dean Spry was between the pipes for the tie.

At home on Saturday to host the Richmond Hill Coyotes. In a back and forth game from the start, the first set would end in a 1-1 tie with Williams scoring for the Devils on the assist from Coates. The second would see the Coyotes take a one goal lead over the Devils despite the best efforts of a goal scored by Carter McKee, set up by Williams and Jared Woolley. The third would be scoreless for both and the Devils came up short. Glen McInnes was in the net for the loss.

Back on the road to Clarington on Sunday, the Devils secured their win for the week as they battled the Toros. After a quiet first period, the Devils potted 3 goals in the third to take a strong lead of 3-0 going into the final set. Scoring in the second were Justin Murdoch, Rylan Reid and Wyatt Gregory, with assists coming from Beau Reade(2), Butcher, Ty McCambridge, Jarmin, and Woolley. The final goal of the game to secure the 4-0 win came from Murdoch on the set up from Butcher and Cooper Kellar. Dean Spry secured the shut out in the win.


On Deck ; The McInroy Maines u18 will close out their regular season play next week as they head to Whitby on Friday and host the Waxers on the CAA on Saturday.
