Poppy Invited to Hockey Canada U17 Program of Excellence Goalie Camp
QRD Minor Midget graduate Anthony Popovich has been invited
to the Hockey Canada U17 Program of Excellence Goalie Camp this weekend (June
12-14) in Toronto.
Popovich was one of 16 goalies from across Canada from the 1999 age group to be invited to this camp. The camp is the first step in selecting players for Canada’s entries into the World Under–17 Hockey Challenge in November. Twelve goalies will be invited to attend the main selection camp in August in Calgary along with 36 defencemen and 60 forwards. From this group, three teams (66 players in total) will be selected to represent Canada at the World 2015 U17 Hockey Challenge. Popovich played for the Red Devils for 6 years, winning 3 OMHA Championships, one OHF Championship, and was recently selected by the Guelph Storm in the 2015 OHL Priority Selection.
