Clarification of Major Midget Permission to Skate Requirement
There has been some confusion around the Major Midget PTS forms. After numerous emails and a lengthy discussion at the ETA meeting last night, we think we have it sorted out.

There is a special Major Midget AAA PTS form (a sample is available below), and it is issued by the AAA organizations, not by the home centres. It is our understanding that only athletes who are from outside of the QRD boundaries require the form.

The first note on the form is …
"1. This form is to be utilized on behalf of all Major Midget aged players wishing to attend “AAA Zone” tryout/training camps of hockey teams/associations within the OMHA and ALLIANCE after August 23."

The general tone related to Permission to Skate forms for Midget AAA is totally different from what happens with the Atom to Minor Midget Tryouts. For these age groups the athletes are not allowed to step on the ice unless they have a completed PTS form. Since the AAA organizations are issuing the Midget AAA PTS form, this is no longer the case. They will be provided (and dealt with) when the athletes register at the tryout. (So don't worry about it!)

The form was originally intended to track the movement of athletes only, but it is unclear if anyone has actually done this.

If you use this form, please email [email protected] and let us know your name, home centre, date of birth, previous season team, and the AAA centre you are trying out in.
This should streamline the process.
Thanks!
