The annual ETA Midget All-Star Game will have seven members
of the McInroy-Maines Midget Red Devils on the ice this weekend.
Goaltender Anthony Bertucca, defensemen Mackenzie Warren and Colin VanDenHurk, along with forwards Nick Hoey, Shelby Rienstra, Greg Thomas, and Greg Powles will represent the ETA East in the annual event that will take place in Orillia this Saturday. The game is part of the ETA/OMHA Minor Midget Showcase Weekend and it brings together the top midget players from the Eastern AAA Hockey League. From this game a team will be selected to play against the South Central AAA All-Stars in January at the SCTA Showcase weekend in St. Catherines. With the presence of many OHL and Junior “A” scouts in Orillia, the game could create future opportunities for many of the participants. Behind the ETA bench will be QRD Midget Head Coach Ben Hagerman, Trainer Curtis Brandt, and Manager Brian Thiffault.
