Foley Bus Lines Minor Peewees Win Series with Richmond Hill
Submitted By gpopovich on Tuesday, March 15, 2016
Next Stop - 2016 OMHA Minor Peewee Championships this Friday at the Yardmen Arena!

The Red Devils found themselves down early in the series against a tough and gritty Coyote Team.  In a race to 6 point series, the Coyotes took Game 1 in Madoc and Game 2 was a tie to give the Coyotes a 3 to 1 points lead in the series.   The Red Devils battled back in Game 3 to tie the series at 3 points.  Game 4 went to Richmond Hill and the Devils found themselves with their backs against the wall down 5 points to 3.  Game 5, saw the Bus Liners come out “on fire” with a convincing 7-0 win in Belleville and forced a final game with both teams tied at 5pts.

On Monday March 14, the Minor Peewees went to Richmond Hill for the final game of the series to determine the winner.  The first two periods were scoreless as play was fast and end to end with several scoring chances by both teams.  Andrew Munro got the call for the final game in the Devil’s net and put on a goaltending clinic in the first two periods to keep the Devils in the game.  It wasn’t until midway through the 3rd period, when the Devils finally broke the ice with Trevor Hoskin scoring on a nice feed from Kendrick Webster.  Just two minutes later, Corbin Roach scored with another outstanding deke following a pass from Connor Hunt. The Devils would finally add a third “empty net goal” form Connor hunt with just over a minute remaining.  Final score for the Devils was 3 to 0 with Andrew Munro collecting his 2nd consecutive shutout.

Next action for the Foley Bus Lines Minor Peewees is the OMHA Minor Peewee AAA Championships.  The Championship Tournament will be held this coming weekend from Mar 18 to 20 in Belleville at the Yardman Arena.  Action begins Friday March 18 with the first game scheduled at 10am.  The schedule will be finalized after Tuesday's wildcard play-in game between Richmond Hill and the Ajax-Pickering Raiders.
