McInroy-Maines Construction - Major Midget
The McInroy Maines Major Midgets split the weekend with a win and a loss on the road this weekend.  Friday was a hard fought battle in Clarington where the boys came just short losing 3-2 with goals by Nelson Powers and Brendan Hagerman. Matt Sherwin, Madoka Suzuki and Matt Poole supplied assists and Affiliate Goaltender Ethan Taylor was solid in the pipes.

Sunday saw the boys take on Richmond Hill and come away with a 3-1 victory. Ryan Kirkpatrick, Elliott Belzile and Brayden Forestell supplied the goals this time with Matt Sherwin, Theo Citrullo, Jason McCracken and Madoka Suzuki had assists. Pierce Nelson was a wall in net.

The Pond at Rhino Sports and Playland - Minor Midget
The Rhino Sports Minor Midget Red Devils travelled to Stouffville to play the Markham Waxers on Saturday September 24
th and Brennan Bush started the game for the Red Devils and picked up where he left off last week as he was once again stifling between the pipes.  Jake Campbell would open the scoring on a sweet individual play as he undressed the Waxer defencemen and went top shelf. The Waxers would answer back beating Brennan Bush before Michael Andrews would make it 2-1 for the Devils on a saucer pass from Logan White. Graham Dickerson would make it 3-1 before the second period was over on a hard working short-handed tally that was created by Jake Campbell, Derrick Vos and Zach Uens enabling Dickerson to deke the goalie out and slide in the shorty. The third period is one the coaching staff will want to as the Red Devils came up flat in the third allowing the Waxers to tie the game as it would end in a 3-3 tie.

On Sunday the Red Devils travelled to Clarington to tackle the AAA Toros and the Devils started the game quickly as Emmett Pierce was sent in on a break-away and he made no mistake beating the goalie just 15 seconds into the contest. Logan White would make it 2-1 on assists by Emmet Pierce and Jake Campbell on a scoring chance created by a persistent fore-check.  Heading into the third period with a 2-1 lead the Devils to show case their talents and work ethic. At the conclusion of the game the final was 6-1 for the Devils and Bantam call-ups Jacob Vreugdenhil and Cole McGuire filled in effectively to fill the void in the defence and forward groupings. Goals were scored by Daniel Panetta, Emmett Pierce, Conner Kennedy and Jake Campbell while assists went to Carden Guerin, Conner Kennedy, Jake Campbell(2), Cameron Supryka, Emmet Pierce(2), Bailey Matthews and Logan White.

The Minor Midgets played host to the Peterborough Pete’s in a mid-week clash. It would be the Pete’s who would score first just 80 seconds into the contest. The Red Devils would answer back on a power-play as Cameron Supryka would blast one through the five hole on a play set up by Logan White and Emmet Pierce. At the end of the first period it was 4-1 for the Devils as Brennan Bush held the Pete’s off the scoreboard after allowing the first goal and was once again solid in net.

The scoring would continue as the Rhino Sports and Playland Red Devils would lead 7-3 after two periods and would win the game 9-4. The goal scorers were led by Emmett Pierce(3), Cameron Supryka, Graham Dickerson, Daniel Panetta, Jake Campbell, Logan White and Isaac Langdon who was called up due to injuries. The assists were led by Logan White(5), Jake Campbell(3), Emmet Pierce (3), Nolan Seto, Michael Andrews(2), Carden Guerin, Graham Dickerson and Isaac Langdon.

On Saturday the Red Devils would travel to Whitby to play the top team in the ETA and the first period wouldn’t bring any scoring to the score sheet as Ethan Taylor was able to provide some spectacular saves during the frame. The second period was much of the same as both teams traded chances with Whitby carrying the majority of the play in the later stages of the period and finally put one past an over worked Ethan Taylor in the final seconds of the second period. Five minutes later on a deflected shot from the point Whitby would take the lead for good and won the game 3-0 on a late empty net goal.

On Sunday the Red Devils would play the Richmond Hill Coyotes a team that sits 1-4-1 and the first 6 games of the young ETA season. Brennan Bush would get the call in the pipes for the Devils and was steady early on as he turned away the Coyotes attack. Brennan would earn a shutout as the Red Devils won 5-0. The goals were scored by bailey Matthews, Jake Campbell, Logan White, Zach Uens and Michael Andrews while assists went to Carden Guerin(2), Emmet Pierce(2), Daniel Panetta(2), Jacob Vreugdenhil and Isaac Langdon.

On Deck: Next up for the Red Devils will be the Kingston Frontenac’s on Wednesday night at 9:30 at the QSWC Family Dental Centre Rink.

Foley Bus Lines - Peewee
The Foley Bus Lines Peewee Red Devils took to the road to Toronto this past weekend to compete in the Canadiens Cup.  The Devils played hard, faced many ups and downs and began to show dominance on Saturday, but in the end it was too late and wasn't enough to make the playoff rounds on Sunday.  The Devils finished with a record of 1-2-1.  The Devils come home with valuable learnings and are eager to apply to their game going forward.

In game 1 on Friday Sept 30, the Devils faced their ETA Western Conference rivals, the Richmond Hill Coyotes.  The Devils came out strong in the first period by taking a 3 to 1 lead.  The Coyotes would not be undone, as they rallied to tied the game in the third period and take the lead late in the game.  Final score was 5 to 4 in favor of the Coyotes. Game 3 on Saturday Oct 1, saw the Devils face the tough Toronto Red Wings.  The Red Wings came out strong and took a 3 to 1 lead after the first frame.  The Devils rallied in the 2nd period to come within 1.  Each team found the back of the net once in the third as the Red Wings maintained their one goal lead to win the game 6 to 5.  Lighting the lamp for the Foley Bus Liners were; Corbin Roach with a pair, Dalyn Wakely with a pair, and Liam Filip.  Assisting on the goals were; Dalyn Wakely with two, Rheydan McCoy, Owen Gibson, and Isaac Brown.  Andrew Munro was in the Devils net.

In the final game of the regular round, the Devils faced the Nickle City Sons.  The Devils poured it on by coming out of the gates on fire, scoring four goals in the first period.   The Devils continued their offence adding two more goals in the third period to win the game by a score of 7 to 1.  Trevor Hoskin found the back of the net twice as did Connor Hunt and Cooper Matthews.  Corbin Roach added a single.  Assists went to; Connor Hunt, Dalyn Wakely, Cooper Matthews with two, Isaac Brown, Rheydan McCoy with two, Parker Stewart, and Liam Filip.  Corbin Votary was on guard in the Devils cage.

On Deck: Next action for the Devils is Saturday Oct 8, at 6pm on the road against the Ajax-Pickering Raiders.

Madison Excavating - Major Atom
The Madison Excavating Major Atoms were on the road all weekend in League play and tallied 4 out of a possible 6 points. Friday, the Devils were on the road to Bowmanville to face the Clarington Toros at the Rickard Arena. The teams battled back and forth, both working to generate multiple scoring chances throughout the first but the scoreboard remained

tied at 0-0 by the end of the period. It was the Toros who got on the board first, but the Devils answered back quickly with a goal from Liam Philip, assisted by Gage Butcher and Kirk Stevenson. Clarington answered back quickly themselves to once again take a one goal lead in the second. Despite the efforts of netminder Dean Spry and numerous scoring chances, by the end of the third Quinte ran out of time with a 3-1 loss.

Saturday, a determined group returned to road to face the Jr. Frontenacs at the Invista Centre in Kingston. Kingston put up a strong defense and worked hard to shut down the offensive Devils, holding them off until Stevenson found the back of the Frontenac net. Assisting on the goal were Butcher and Philip. Kingston managed to sneak one past Quinte's quick Glen McInnes between the pipes but Quinte answered back to regain the lead late in the third with a goal from Jared Langdon, assisted by Brody Partridge and Braedyn Rogers. Quinte took the win 2-1.

Sunday, a confident Major Atom group headed to Oshawa to face the Generals. With Dean Spry back in net, the Devils leaned on their defense and netminder to keep the Generals off the scoreboard completely, while the offense went to work. It was Beckett Ewart who opened up the scoring in the first, assisted by Langdon and Ben Vreugdenhil. Langdon added another in the first, with the set up from Landon Wright to make it a 2-0 Devils lead. Langdon added another in the second, assisted by Ewart and Ben Danford. It was Wright who scored the final goal, assisted by Langdon to take the win 4-0 Devils.

On Deck: The Madison Excavating Major Atoms will host their home opener in Marmora this upcoming Saturday verses the Ajax-Pickering Raiders at 3pm. Thanksgiving Sunday will have the Devils back in action at home, this time in Madoc at 1:30 to host the Oshawa Generals.

KKP - Minor Atom

A pair of home games last week did not yield the results that the KKP Minor Atom Red Devils had hoped for.  On Wednesday, Ben Graham scored early and the hosts never looked back in a 4-1 victory over Kingston.  Avery Wease, Deke Osterhout and Kaiden Harmon also scored for the Devils. Looking to sweep the weekend on Sunday against Oshawa, the Devils would see the Generals come out strong with two quick goals and the visitors never let up in a 4-2 victory, their first of the season. Alek Asimis and Evan Erwin scored for the Devils who saw their record drop to 3-3.

On Deck: The KKP minor atom Devils return to action next weekend with a home and home set with division rival Central Ontario Wolves.

Topper's Pizza – Novice

The Topper's Pizza Novice Red Devils hosted a pair of games over the weekend. On Saturday the Barrie Colts came to town, who won by a score of 4-0.  The Devils just could not find the back of the net versus a strong Colts team.

On Sunday the Devils hosted the Central Ontario Wolves. The Wolves won by a 6-1 score. Gavin Armstrong scored the lone goal by the Devils, assisted by Ryland Cunningham. The Devils just didn't have an answer for a powerful Wolves team on this date.

On Deck: Up next, the novice Red Devils will host the Oshawa Generals in their only game over the Thanksgiving Weekend, on Saturday Oct 8 at 1:30 at the Cobourg Community Centre Bowl.
