KKP - Minor Atom
The KKP minor atom Red Devils travelled to Whitby for the International Silver Stick tournament this past weekend. In the tourney opener on Thursday, the Devils upset one of the top teams in Ontario, Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs, 1-0. Evan Erwin scored the only goal but the story of the game was the outstanding goaltending from Lennox Stewart.

In game two on Friday, the Devils took on the host Whitby Wildcats and once again received strong goaltending, this time from Liam Boyer, in a 2-1 victory. Kaiden Harmon and Deke Osterhout scored for Quinte.

In their third game Saturday morning, it was the Devils turn to face hot goaltending as the New Jersey Rockets withstood a flurry of shots and scoring chances from Quinte to secure a 2-1 win. Avery Wease scored the Devils only goal. In their final round robin game Saturday afternoon Quinte faced the difficult task of having to beat the unbeaten and number one ranked team in the United States - Middlesex Islanders (near Boston). Unfortunately the Devils would see their tournament come to an end with an 8-1 defeat. Harmon was the lone scorer for Quinte.

On Deck: The KKP minor atom Devils hit the road next weekend with games in Barrie on Saturday and Orillia on Sunday against North Central.

Rhino Sports and Playland - Minor Midget
The Rhino Sports and Playland Minor Midget Red Devils played well in the Silver Stick Tournament over the weekend but not well enough to advance to the quarter finals as they narrowly missed the cut to advance.

Game 1: Mississauga Reps (2-2 Tie)
The Red Devils played the Mississauga Reps who are undefeated in regular GTHL play and currently ranked third in Ontario and they showed why. The game was scoreless in the first period due to the play of Ethan Taylor who kept his team in the game for the first two periods. The Reps lead 1-0 at the end of the second period and carried most of the play. The third period was a different story as the Devils came out of the gate hungry for the puck. They would be rewarded as they scored just 2:07 into the frame and started to have some “push-back” in their game. The Reps would take the lead again on a short-handed effort but with 1:47 left the Red Devils would tie the game and it would end in a 2-2 draw. Goals were scored by Michael Andrews and Dalton Bancroft while assists went to Derrick Vos, Dalton Bancroft, Zach Uens and Michael Andrews.

Game 2: Thunder Bay Kings (4-1 Win)
The Devils would play early Friday morning, they started slowly and luckily for the team Brennan Bush was prepared to play at first puck drop. The first period would be scoreless but in the second period the Devils would open the scoring early.  The Kings answered back but as good teams become great teams they learn to push-back and this is exactly what happened as the Devils scored just 27 seconds later. Three minutes later it was 3-1 for the Red Devils and before the game would end Quinte would make it 4-1. Goals were scored by Graham Dickerson, Daniel Panetta, Dalton Bancroft and Bailey Matthews while assists went to Connor Kennedy, Daniel Panetta, Graham Dickerson, Dalton Bancroft, Michael Andrews Bailey Matthews and Matt Cawker.

Game 3: Lethbridge Hurricanes (2-1 Loss)
The Red Devils started off on the wrong skate and never recovered as there was a continuous trip to the penalty box in the first half of the game. Lethbridge would score on a 5-on-3 situation early in the second period and would take a 2-0 lead just a few minutes later. Bailey Matthews would answer back for the Devils with 10 minutes to go in the third but they would be unable to generate much offence and flow through the neutral zone and would lose the game 2-1. The only goal was scored by Bailey Matthews while assists went to Graham Dickerson and Matt Cawker.

Game 4: Chicago Mission (4-1 Win)
The Red Devils kept the streak of not scoring in the first period in all four games in the tournament as the Mission kept them to the perimeter and the Devils could not penetrate the defensive stand.  Brennan Bush would stop all but 1 of the 14 shots he faced in the game. The Devils would hold the Mission to just three shots in the first period and would score three themselves in the second. The Mission would score early in the third but as good teams learn to be great teams,  the Red Devils would answer back just 21 seconds later to seal the deal and skate to a 4-1 victory. Goals were scored by Graham Dickerson, Emmet Pierce, Logan White and Michael Andrews while assists went to Emmet Pierce, Daniel Panetta, Jake Campbell, Dalton Bancroft, Cameron Supryka, Michael Andrews, Bailey Matthews and Matt Cawker.
On Deck:  The minor midget will travel to Aurora next weekend to take part in the ETA – OMHA Minor Midget Showcase. The will play Central Ontario Wolves on Saturday, and Ajax-Pickering on Sunday

Free Flow Petroleum - Bantam
The Free Flow Petroleum Major Bantam Quinte Red Devils split their two games this week, winning in convincing fashion on Monday night in Oshawa but then losing to Whitby on Thursday night at home. In Oshawa, the Generals opened the scoring at the twelve minute mark of the first period but the Red Devils answered two minutes later to tie the game and from there never looked back. they scored one more time in the first, twice in the second and five times in the third to take the game 9-2. Goal scorers for Quinte included Gavyn Stevenson, Curtis Dicks, Jacob Vreugdenhil,  and Isaac Langdon scoring two each. The single goal went to Connor MacGregor. Assisting goals were Jaxen Boyer, Jacob Gilbert (2), Riley St. Pierre, Garrett Bird, Marshall McFarland, Stevenson and Langdon.

Thursday nights game was a much different story. Once the scoring started in the second period the Red Devils found themselves playing from behind. Whitby scored the first goal of the game and Quinte responded by evening  it up on a pretty passing play which saw Connor MacGregor finish a pass from Jaxen Boyer. Isaac Langdon had the other assist. Whitby would go up 3-1 by the end of the second. Quinte came out flying for the third period and scored twice in the first four minutes of the period to tie the game 3-3. The first goal of the third was scored by MacGregor, assisted by Jacob Vreugdenhil. The second was by Isaac Langdon on a feed from Marshall McFarland. Unfortunately, the Wildcats scored on a power play goal a few minutes later and then again before adding an empty net goal to take the game 6-3.

On Deck: The Major Bantams travel to Ajax on Sunday night. Their next home game is not until Dec. 15 at 7:00 against the Central Ontario Wolves.
