Saturday Dec. 5 and Sunday Dec. 6 in Aurora...
This weekend, (Dec. 5 and 6), the Eastern AAA Hockey League will host its annual Minor Midget Showcase event in Aurora. The 13 ETA minor midget AAA teams, and 2 All-Star teams from the Northern Ontario Hockey Association will play a total of 19 hockey games in front of a large contingent of OHL and Junior A scouts. The QRD Rhino Sports Minor Midgets will play the Central Ontario Wolves at 4:30 on Saturday, and the Ajax-Pickering Raiders at 2:00 on Sunday.
As part of the weekend’s events, the ETA will also showcase its top midget players in the ETA Midget All-Star Game. Representing the McInroy-Maines QRD Midgets will be defenseman Joe Roy, and forwards Madoka Suzuki, and Nate Boomhower, along with Head Coach Ben Hagerman who will be on the bench for the ETA East. Players will be selected from this game to play in the ETA – SCTA Midget All-Star Game in January.
