QRD Weekly Report – Monday December 19, 2016 ​
Week 15 - Last report of 2016

Topper's Pizza- Novice

The Topper's Pizza Novice Red Devils traveled to Ottawa for the Ottawa Senators Novice Holiday Classic.

On Friday the in Devils first game they faced the Nepean Raiders and came out on top 4-2. Nowl Wallace picked up the win in net. Scoring for the Devils was Jack Foley, Brendan Reid, Riley Reid and Kaden Koutroulides. Assisting on the Devils goals were Kolby Craig, Lucas Adamson, Tavin MacDonald and Ryland Cunningham. In the Devils second game they faced the host Kanata Blazers and lost a tight game 3-2. Quinn Donovan was in net. Scoring for the Devils was Kolby Craig and Kaden Koutroulides; Owen Rivers drew an assist.

On Saturday morning the Devils were in a must win game versus the Eastern Ontario Cobras and the Devils ran away with this game 9-0. Scoring for the Devils was Owen Rivers (2), Kaden Koutroulides (2), Jack Foley (2), Riley Reid, Connor Fetterley and Ryland Cunningham. Picking up assists was Kaden Koutroulides (2), Jack Foley (2), Brendan Reid, Riley Reid, Kaden Koutroulides (2), Blake Leblanc, Lucas Adamson, Tavin MacDonald, Gavin Armstrong and Connor Fetterley. Nowl Wallace picked up the shutout. With the win the Devils qualified for the quarter-finals and faced the ETA-East division leaders the Peterborough Petes. The devils played a great game, but just could not score losing 2-0; the Petes scored on an empty net with 12 seconds left to seal the game. Quinn Donovan played great in goal for the Devils.

Up next: The Topper's Pizza Novice Red Devils are off for the holidays and return to action on January 6th 2017 in the Oshawa Challenge tournament. Merry Christmas and Happy new Year everyone from your Topper’s Pizza Novice Red Devils.


Bonn Law - Minor Peewee
A winter snow storm kept the Bonn Law Quinte Red Devils Minor Peewee Team off the ice on Saturday, but the boys were back in action on Sunday when they hosted the York Simcoe Express. The Express opened up the scoring in the game, and would take a 3-1 lead in first period, but the Devils added two more goals before the end of the period to tie the game at three after the opening frame. The Devils went ahead by two goals in the second period, and added two more goals in the third on their way to a 7-4 win over the Express. Ethan Miedema led the way for the Devils, scoring a hat trick and adding two assists. Spencer Cranley, Jack Dever, Cal uens and Christopher Brydges also found the back of the net for The Devils. Also chipping in with helpers on the goals was Dever (2), Uens (2), Michael Dolton, Ethan Quick, Nick Oke (2), and Joshua Cunningham. Aidan Crowley looked sharp between the pipes all game long in the win.

On Deck: The Devils are in Oshawa for a game on December 21st, before the Christmas break.

 

The Pond at Rhino Sports and Playland - Minor Midget
On Sunday the The Pond at Rhino Sports and Playland Minor Midget Red Devils travelled to Rama to play the North Central Predators and won the game 5-1. Brennan Bush was in net for the win and played extremely well when called upon, at a pivotal juncture in the game Brennan make three incredible momentum changing saves. Shortly after the amazing save sequence the Red Devils would score four unanswered goals on route to a 5-1 victory.  

The goals were scored by Matt Cawker(2), Dalton Bancroft, Daniel Panetta and Emmett Pierce while assists went to Graham Dickerson(2), Derrick Vos, Connor Kennedy, Carden Guerin, Bailey Matthews, Jake Campbell, Emmet Pierce  and Keegan Hunt.

On Deck: Next up for the Red Devils will be the Peterborough Pete’s at the Sports and Wellness Center on Wednesday at 9:15pm before the Christmas Break.

Foley Bus Lines – Peewee
The Foley Bus Lines Peewee Red Devils had only one game this past week in ETA action.  The Bus Liners took to the road to play the Wildcats in Whitby on Friday Dec 18.

Whitby came out strong in the first period and netted two goals, while the Red Devils found the net only once as Parker Stewart scored from the point on a feed from Connor Hunt.  The second period was all Devils as they lit the lamp twice on goals from Corbin Roach and Isaac Brown to take a 3 to 2 lead going into the final frame.  Assisting on the 2nd period goals were; Donovan McCoy and Cooper Matthews.  The third period was end to end action with both goalies make key saves.  Whitby would score with only 4 minutes left to tie the game and hang on to end the game in a 3 to 3 tie.  Corbin Votary played a solid game in the Devils net making key saves throughout the game to keep the game close. 

On Deck: Next action for the Peewee Red Devils is this Thursday Dec 22 against the Kingston Frontenacs at the QSWC.  Puck drops at 6:45pm in the final league game for the Devils before the Christmas Break.

 

Madison Excavating - Major Atom

The Madison Excavating Major Atoms were held off on league play this week due to weather.

On Deck: The Devils will be in action this week to host the Oshawa Generals in Marmora on Wednesday in Marmora at 7pm.
