March 3-5, 2017 at Iroquois Park Sports Complex in Whitby

Game #1 – York Simcoe Express (7-4 W)
The Minor Midgets came to Aurora and didn’t come ready to play out of the gate but their goalie Ethan Taylor did and a result Ethan kept his team in the game until they found their game.  Things settled down once the Red Devils cycled through a few shifts for each line and then they started executing their plays. The Red Devils had leads of 1-0, 2-1, 3-2, 4-3, 5-4, 6-4 and finally 7-4 as this is how the game would end. Ethan Taylor would stop 28 of the York Simcoe shots he faced and battled every minute of the game for his team.

The  goals were scored by Bailey Matthews, Logan White(2), Graham Dickerson(2), Emmet Pierce and Carden Guerin while assists went to Emmet Pierce, Keegan Hunt, Jake Campbell, Dalton Bancroft(2), Cameron Supryka(2), Zach Uens, Michael Andrews, Bailey Matthews and Matt Cawker.

Game #2 – York Simcoe Express (2-1 W)
On Sunday the Red Devils hosted the York Simcoe Express and once again were led by the efforts of the goaltender and today it was Brennan Bush’s turn to steal the show as he stopped 24 shots on his way to the 2-1 victory. The game was a very tight defensive match-up as each team didn’t want to make a mistake as both sides have plenty of offensive threats.  The teams headed into the third period tied and either team could have taken the lead if it were not for the stellar goaltending at both ends. The goals were scored by Dalton Bancroft and Michael Andrews while assists went to Emmet Pierce, Daniel Panetta and Dalton Bancroft.

Game #3 – York Simcoe Express (2-1 W)

The third game of the series was held back in Aurora on Monday night and the Red Devils would be victorious again with one of the grittiest of efforts ever by this group as they held off the Express. The team was without Bailey Matthews and Keegan Hunt due to injuries and early in the second period would go down to seven forwards as Matt Cawker would have to leave the game. These boys showed what they are made of and how #Resilient they are, their work ethic and determination to win is second to none in the ETA. The goals were scored by Emmet Pierce and Daniel Panetta while assists went to Connor Kennedy, Logan White, Cameron Supryka and Jake Campbell. The Minor Midgets will now take part in the OMHA’s March 3-5th in Whitby.
