Congrats to the 8 QRD Minor Midgets Selected for OHL Gold Cup
Two OMHA teams will participate in the
2017 Under 16 OHL Gold Cup to be held in Kitchener ON,
May 3-7, 2017.
Earlier this week the OHL Gold Cup Rosters were announced. Eight Quinte Minor Midget players were chosen... OMHA Team White... Daniel Panetta, Michael Andrews, Dalton Bancroft, Emmet Pierce,zack Uens, Ethan Taylor
On OMHA Team Black ... Cameron Supryka, and Jakob Campbell
The OHL Gold Cup is an annual showcase event featuring top under-16 talent in Ontario. As part of the Hockey Canada Program of Excellence, a number of players from the OHL Gold Cup will be invited to attend the National Under-17 Selection Camp, where they will have a chance to compete with other top talent from across Canada, to earn a spot at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
The 2 rosters are comprised of 40 of the best Minor Midget-aged players who played in the OMHA this season, many that were selected in the OHL Draft on April 8. They will play in a tournament against similar teams from the GTHL (2), Alliance, HEO, HNO, and NOHA.
