Thanks and Best Wishes to our Non-Returning Coaches
Submitted By Website Admin on Wednesday, April 26, 2017
The Quinte Red Devils would like to say thanks, and pass on best wishes to our 5 non-returning coaches.

Russ Alexander has been coaching for over 30 years, and many of those years have been with QRD. Many of us attended coaching courses where Russ was the instructor. Russ will remain with the organization as part of our coach mentor team, and currently holds the position of past-president on the board. Thank-you Russ for your many years of service.

Steve Bancroft has been on the coaching staff of the 2001 team for 6 seasons, the last 2 as head coach. Steve guided the 2001’s to the OMHA Championships the last 2 seasons, and this past season they earned the bronze medal. Thanks very much Steve!

Jeanna Oke guided the 2005 team to the OMHA Championships in March, in her third season with the team. She is an awesome example to all of our young female hockey players who are interested in coaching at a high level. She is currently serving on the QRD board as Vice-President – OMHA Convenor. Thanks Jeanna.

Brent Heusinkveld has been coaching with Quinte for the last 7 seasons. He spent 4 seasons with the 1999 team, and another with the 2000’s before taking over the 2002 team at minor bantam level as head coach for the last 2 seasons. He is currently working with the 2004 team as an assistant coach. Thank you Brent for your continuing service to our QRD athletes.

Chris Hunt was the head coach or the 2004 team for all 4 of their seasons. They were OMHA Champions as atoms, and qualified for the OMHA Championships 3 times. They won numerous tournaments, and this year narrowly missed the OMHA’s. Thank you Chris!
