Minor Atom Reach Semi-Finals in London and Bantams are Consolation Champs in Peterborough...

KKP Printing - Minor Atom

On Wednesday October 18th the KKP Red Devils travelled to Whitby to face the undefeated Wildcats. The Red Devils opened the scoring on a goal by Blake Leblanc, assisted by Ryland Cunningham. The Wildcats then responded with four unanswered goals to take the game 4-1. Kayden McBride-Hyde was between the pipes.

The KKP Red Devils then travelled to Kitchener to play in the Oktoberfest Kitchener Jr Rangers tournament. The Red Devils started the tournament Friday morning against the Burlington Eagles. The eagles would open the scoring before the Red Devils would score three unanswered goals to take a 3-1 lead half way through the third; on goals by Cunningham (2) and Kaden Koutroulides, assists going to Owen Rivers, Cooper Kelly, Kolby Craig (2) and Cunningham.

The eagles would then respond to tie the game with 2:32 left in the third, however the Red Devils would respond shortly after on a goal by Cunningham to complete the hat trick, assisted by Carson Lynch. The game ended with a 4-3 Red Devils win, and Nowl Wallace picked up the win in net.

The Red Devils then played the Huron Perth Lakers. The Lakers opened the scoring in the first period and the scored stayed that way until the third period. The Red Devils would tie the score on the power play on a goal by Kolby Craig, assisted by Cunningham and Lynch. The Lakers would then respond to take the lead 2-1. The Red Devils would tie it up with 4:24 remaining on a goal by Connor Fetterley and assisted by Rivers. The Red Devils then took the game on a goal by Cunningham and assisted by Craig with 49 seconds left. Mcbride-Hyde picked up the win in net.

The Red Devils then faced the Hamilton Huskies Saturday morning, who were also 2-0-0 and the winner would win the division and qualify for the semi-finals on Sunday. It was all Red Devils in this game as they opened the scoring 7 seconds in and didn’t look back on a goal by Craig assisted by Cunningham. The Red Devils would score 4 more before the game ended on goals by Jack Foley (2), Craig and Cunningham, with assists going to Cunningham and Foley. The game would end 5-1 Red Devils and Wallace picked up the win.

The Red Devils then faced the London Jr Knights in a crossover game with both teams 3-0-0. The Jr Knights would coming out hard and not let the Red Devils back into it taking the game 7-3. Scoring for the Red Devils was Rivers, Cunningham and Lucas Ferguson; with assists going to Foley, Fetterley, Riley Reid and Jacob Moore. Mcbride-Hyde was between the pipes for this game.

The Red Devils then faced the Jr Knights in a rematch Sunday morning in the semi-finals. It was a back and forth game with the game tied 3-3 going into the third. Scoring for the Devils was Craig, Koutroulides and Tavin Macdonald; with assists going to Cunningham (2), Moore and Lynch. The Jr Knights scored with 5:43 left and then added two more in the last minute to take the game 6-3. Wallace was in net for the Red Devils. The Red Devils have another big week coming up with 3 games next weekend. 


Game Ready Hockey Development - Bantam
The Game Ready Hockey Development Bantams participated in the Peterborough Icefest this weekend. The team opened the tournament with a 3-2 win against the Ontario Hockey Academy.  Goals scored by Zack Brooks, Luke Lapalm and Daniel Michaud. Assist from Luke Lapalm and Zack Brooks.

The second game of the tournament would match the Devils against the North Bay Trappers. The Devils would skate to a 3-2 victory with goals from Brock Kelsh, Zack Brooks and Connor Brooks. Assists from Blake Maracle, Luke Lapalm and Zack Brooks (2).

In game three, the Devils recorded their first lost.  The Devil's only goal was scored by Daniel Michaud in the 3-1 loss to the Eastern Ontario Wild. In the last round robin game of the tournament the Devil's lost  3-2 in overtime to the Waterloo Wolves.  Goals for the Devils scored by Brock Kelsh and Clayton Farrow. Assist from Daniel Michaud, Blake Maracle and Nathaniel Burelle.

Advancing to the B quarter finals the Devil's skated to a 4-1 win over the Timmins North Stars. Goals from Clayton Farrow, Luke Lapalm, Brock Kelsh and Daniel Michaud. Assists from Alex Case, Jett Butler (2) and Daniel Michaud.

In the semi finals the Devils would again play the Ontario Hockey Academy.  The team skated to a 6-0 victory. Scoring for the Devils was Daniel Michaud, Zack Brooks (2), Ben White, Nathaniel Burelle and Jett Butler. Assists from Clayton Farrow, Daniel Michaud, Ben White, Gavin Camp and Hunter Hall.

In the B finals the Devil's would face the Waterloo Wolves once again. This time the Devils would come out on top winning the B championship 3-0. Devils scoring from Daniel Michaud, Nathaniel Burelle and Ethan Broek. Assisting was Nathaniel Burelle and Brock Kelsh.

Both Ethan Fraser and Dixon Grimes were solid in net throughout the tournament. The team resumes league play this Friday in Oshawa to take on the Generals.

McInroy Maines - Major Midget
The McInroy Maines Major Midget Red Devils have limped through the weekend losing 3 games to Clarington (5-2), Central (4-1) and York Simcoe Express (4-3). Despite being tied going into the third period in all three games the boys weren't able to break loose over some tough opponents.

Elijah Brahaney and Jack Dow tallied in the Clarington loss, Brahaney had the lone goal in the Central defeat, and Lucas Sanders, Conner Kennedy and Braydan Forestell had the markers vs. York Simcoe. Goaltending was anything but the problem as Brennan Bush and Ethan Taylor played remarkably well all weekend.

The month of October continues to be busy as the team Travels to Port Perry for a game vs. Central Oct 24, then is home for two on the weekend including Trenton Golden Hawks Day on October 28 vs. Peterborough 6:30 puck drop. The other home game this week is also in Trenton on October 27 against Whitby for an 8:30 start.

Foley Bus Lines - Minor Bantam

The Foley Bus Lines Minor Bantams gained 4 more points in ETA action this past weekend with wins over the Richmond Hill Coyotes, and the Oshawa Generals.

On Saturday Oct 21, the Devils hosted the Richmond Hill Coyotes at the QSWC.  The Coyotes got off to an early start by netting a goal with just minutes left in the first period, to take a one goal lead.  It was all Devils in the second period as they scored 3 unanswered goals.  Scoring for the Devils were; Sami Douglas-Najem, from Dalyn Wakely and Connor Hunt. Owen Beck scored, assisted by Kellen Dostaler. And Noah Richard found the back of the Coyote net, assisted by Trevor Hoskin.  Each team skated to a scoreless third period as the Devils took this one, by a score of 3 to 1.  Brady Spry was rock solid in the Devils cage.

On Sunday Oct 22, the Bus Liners travelled to Oshawa to take on the Generals at the Campus Ice Centre.  The Generals opened the scoring on a power play, but the Devils answered with two goals to take the lead going into the second frame. Scoring for the Devils were; Noah Richard from Connor Hunt and Corbin Roach. Connor Hunt scored the second Devil goal, from Noah Richard and Dalyn Wakely.  The Devils scored two more in the second period to take a 4 to 1 lead. Second period goals were scored by; Noah Richard, from Aaron Brown and Donovan McCoy, and Corbin Roach scored on assists from Kellen Dolstaler and Owen Beck.  The Generals would pull within 2 by scoring the only goal in the third, but the Devils would hang on to take the win, by a score of 4 to 2.  Corbin Votary went the distance in the Devils net.


On Deck: Next Action for the Foley Bus Lines Red Devils is Saturday Oct 28, as they host the Peterborough Pete’s at the Duncan McDonald Arena in Trenton. Puck drop is scheduled for 5pm.


Pita Pit - Major Atom
The Major Atom Pita Pit boys played one away game this weekend, taking on the Oshawa Generals. Both teams came out strong with a solid first period. Kaiden Harmon scored in the second period, assisted by Sam Thompson and Owen Cassidy. An insurance goal was handed to the Red Devils by Owen Ferguson, assisted by line-mates Carter Chadwick and Harmon. Oshawa managed to get one on the board. Lennox Stewart was solid in net.
On Deck: The boys travel to Clarington on Friday night to face the Toros.

Bonn Law - Peewee
The Bonn Law Quinte Red Devils Major Peewee Team were at the Boston Pizza Icefest tournament in Peterborough this weekend, where they won 5 straight games, before losing in the semi final game on Sunday.

The Devils started things off with a 3-2 win over the Upper Canada Cyclones on Thursday afternoon. The boys followed that up with two more wins on Friday, when they defeated The Guelph Junior Gryphons 3-2 and The Rochester Monarchs 6-0.

It was another early start on Saturday morning, when the Devils defeated the Sudbury Wolves 13-0. The Red Devils finished 1st in their division, which meant they would take on the Timmins North Stars in the quarter final game. The teams were tied at two goals each at the end of regulation, which meant 4 on 4 overtime. The Devils were quick to find the back of the net in OT to win the game 3-2. On Sunday the Devils were up against The Rochester Monarchs once again. The semi final game proved to be an exciting match up, where the Monarchs won the game by a score of 3-2 in two on two overtime.

Next up for the Red Devils: two league games next weekend. Saturday at noon in Trenton vs The Peterborough Pete's and Sunday at 4:15 in Markham.

Rhino Sports and Play – Novice
The Rhino Sports and Play Quinte Novice Red Devils were defeated 11-2 in a game this past Saturday in Whitby.  The two Red Devil goals were scored by Gabriel Davis assisted by Ryan Foley and Cameron Shaw assisted by Pierson Clute.

On Sunday Oct 22, the Devils were victorious in home game against the York Simcoe Express with a 4-2 win. Scoring for Quinte were Nate Rashotte, Cameron Shaw, Paxton Erskine, and Gabriel Davis. Assists came from MacLean Chisholm, Seth Scaletta (2), and Shaw.


Madison Excavating - Minor Peewee
The Madison Excavating Minor Peewee Quinte Red Devils closed up the weekend with another 4 points in regular season play. Saturday, the Devils were on the road to Clarington to take on the Toros for the first match up of the season. Quinte wasted no time finding the back of the Toro's net as Gage Butcher took the pass from Ty Therrien to open up the scoring. Beckett Ewart would add another, assisted by Jared Langdon shortly after. The pair would go on the have Langdon score on the set up from Ewart to make it 3-0 at the end of the first. Clarington would sneak in 2 quick goals early in the second but it was all Devils the rest of the game as the Minor Peewees would score another 4 unanswered goals before the end of the game. Scoring in the remainder of the game was Brody Partridge, Liam Philip, Braedyn Rogers and Langdon, assisted by Ben Danford, Langdon, Ewart(2) and Landon Wright(2). Dean Spry stood tall in net for the Devils for the 7-2 win.

Sunday had the Devils play host to the Central Ontario Wolves in Madoc. The Devils were caught off guard when the Wolves struck first, but it would be their only goal of the game as the Devils quickly regrouped and poured on the offence the rest of the game. Partridge tied it up 1-1 with the assist from Thomas Kuipers. Butcher opened up the second with a beauty on the helper from Philip, while Ewart added another to make it 3-1 by the end of the second, assisted by Wright. In the third, the Devils would tally another 3 unanswered goals to give them the final 6-1 victory. Scoring in the third was Wright(2) and Kuipers. Assisting in the third were Langdon(2), Ewart, Partridge, Deacon Ellis and Therrien. Mike McIvor had a solid game between the pipes.

On Deck: The Madison Excavating Minor Peewees take to the road for a mid week match up on Tuesday in Fenlon Falls to face Central Ontario. Saturday at home in Trenton verses Peterborough at 10am and back on the road to Ajax on Sunday to take on the Raiders at the Ajax CC.
