Rhino Sports and Play - Novice
The Rhino Sports and Play Quinte Novice Red Devils had a big 4-0 win over the Oshawa Generals on Sunday Nov 26. 

In the first period, Jonas McCoy scored an un-assisted goal on an end to end rush. After a scoreless second period,  MacLean Chislom scored a natural hat trick, with assists by Keegan Goulah, Jonas McCoy, Seth Scaletta (2),  Nate Rashotte, and Pierson Clute.

On Deck: Next game is against the Central Ontario Wolves in Lindsay on December 2nd at 4:00. 

Madison Excavating - Minor Peewee
The Madison Excavating Minor Peewees secured 2 points this week in league play and participated in the Whitby Silver Stick over the weekend. The Devils travelled to Kingston on Tuesday to take on the Jr. Frontenacs. Quinte wasted no time in the first and took a 2-0 lead before the end of the first set. Scoring for the Devils was Jared Langdon and Liam Philip. Assisting in the first was Beckett Ewart and Langdon. The second periodwas quiet and would remain scoreless. The third period saw the Devils cushion their lead with 2 more goals. The first, unassisted, by Philip and the second from Langdon, assisted by Ewart and Deacon Ellis. Mike McIvor recored the shut out in net for Quinte for the 4-0 win.

The Minor Peewees travelled close to home for the Whitby Silver Stick tournament. Game play started Thursday for the Devils as they faced off against the ETA West Richmond Hill Coyotes. Quinte would strike first with a goal from Ty Therrien, assisted by Thomas Kuipers and Ben Vreugdenhil. Philip would score the lone goal of the second set on the set up from Ewart but it would be all Richmond Hill in the third. The Devils held the Coyotes off the scoreboard until the dying minutes of the third when they managed to sneak 2 quick goals past the Devils quick net minder. The game would end in a 2-2 tie. Dean Spry was solid between the pipes.

Friday had the Devils playing 2 games. The first was a wild match up with the Long Island Royals. The first would end scoreless as both teams worked hard to match speed and skill, but in the second it was the Royals who struck first. The Devils wasted no time answering back to tie it on an unassisted goal from Philip and then get the go ahead goal from Ben Danford, assisted by Landon Wright. The third period would end scoreless but remained a physical battle right to the bitter end. Tempers ran high for the opposing team as they succumbed to the loss but the Devils remained composed and took home their first win of the tournament. McIvor took the 3-2 win in net.

Friday's game 2 was against a familiar team, as the Devil's took on their rivals from the 2016 OMHA final, the Markham Waxers. The Devils wasted no time and came out of the gates flying. Ben Vreugdenhil opened up the scoring with an unassisted shot from the point, giving Quinte a 1-0 lead. Markham was relentless accumulating a few goals during the second. The Devils were undeterred and worked to close the gap and claim 3 goals in the third period. Scoring for the Devils was Philip (2) and Gage Butcher. Assisting in the third were Ewart (2), Langdon, Wright and Therrien. Spry made many key saves in the game but the Devils came up short taking the 6-4 loss.

Saturday saw the Devils face the Boston Minutemen. Therrien would open the scoring in the first with an unassisted beauty. Langdon would add another, assisted by Ewart and Danford before the end of the set. Langdon would get his second of the game in the third to make it a 3-2 lead. Boston put the pressure on in the dying seconds as the Devils played the penalty kill. Quinte held their own, with McIvor making a few last minute saves to secure the win. Unfortunately 2 wins and a tie were not enough to secure the Devils a Sunday game.

On Deck: The Madison Excavating Minor Peewees will play host to the Richmond Hill Coyotes at home on Saturday at QSWC and will be in Markham on Sunday to face the Waxers.


Foley Bus Lines - Minor Bantam
The Foley Bus Lines Minor Bantams entered the Gloria Rints Memorial Silver Stick Finals this weekend in Whitby with high hopes and the team didn’t disappoint!  The Bus Liners managed to make it to the Semi Finals in a field of North Americas Best!

In game 1 on Thursday Nov 23, the Bus Liners faced the Nickel City Sons. The Red Devils got off to a slow start in the tournament with a 2 to 2 tie as they struggled to find their feet. Scoring both goals for the Devils in this match was Trevor Hoskin. Noah Richard and Dalyn Wakely provided the assists on the Devil’s goals.  Bradey Spry was solid in the Devils cage to keep the Devils in the match.

Game 2 on Friday Nov 24, saw the Devils face the always powerful Chicago Mission. It was all Devils in the 2nd period as Dalyn Wakely scored twice, while Kellen Dostaler and Noah Richard added singles to give the Devils a 4 to 1 lead going into the 3rd period.  Assists went to Trevor Hoskin with a pair, Dalyn Wakely with two, Donovan McCoy, and Kellen Dostaler with two.  The Mission mounted a come-back effort in the third; scoring twice to pull within one, but the Devils held on and won by a score of 4 to 3.  Corbin Votary went the distance in the Devils cage.

On Saturday Nov. 25, the Devils faced the Hamilton Huskies in Game 3.  In back and forth action, the Devils kept pace and ended the first period in a 1 to 1 tie.  Donovan McCoy scored the only Devils goal in the first period as Trevor Hoskin provided the helper.  The Devils scored three times in the 2nd period and the Huskies twice, to give the Devils a 4 to 3 lead going into the third.  Donovan McCoy, Owen Beck and Connor Hunt scored for the Devils, as Corbin Roach assisted twice and Kellen Dostaler once.  Both Teams skated to a scoreless third giving the Devils a 4 to 3 win over the Huskies.  Bradey Spry and Corbin Votary shared the duties in the Devils net.

In game 4 on Saturday Nov 25, the Bus Liners faced the Toronto Red Wings.  The Devils opened the scoring in the first period with a Corbin Roach break away to take a 1 to 0 lead going into the 2nd period.  Dalyn Wakely and Donovan McCoy added two more goals in the second on assists from; Corbin Roach, Trevor Hoskin and Kellen Dostaler.  It was 3 to 0 for the Devils going into the third.  Owen Beck found the back of the Red Wing cage in the third on feeds from Trevor Hoskin and Liam Filip.  Final score was  4 to 0 for the Devils over the Red Wings as goaltender Corbin Votary recorded the shut out win.

The 3 wins and a tie for the Devils was enough for the Devils to win their division and move on to the quarter finals on Sunday Nov 26.  The Devils faced the Toronto Titans in this fast and physical game where the Titans came out strong and dominated in the first period scoring only one goal to give the Titans a 1 to 0 lead going into the 2nd.  Corbin Votary made several stops in the first the keep the Devils in the game.  The Devils evened things up in the 2nd on a goal by Dalyn Wakely, assisted by Parker Stewart and Donovan McCoy.  In the third period the Devils scored twice on goals from Trevor McDowell, and Noah Richard. Providing the assists were Connor Hunt, Kellen Dostaler, Trevor Hoskin and Donovan McCoy. The Devils were hanging onto a 3 to 1 lead with minutes left when the Titans scored to make it a 3 to 2 game, but the Devils hung on to win by a score of 3 to 2 and earn a place in the Semi Finals.  Devil goalie, Corbin Votary was rock solid in this game to keep the Devils in it.

In the Semi Final match; the Devils face the Number One Ranked Team, Detroit Honey Baked.  Honey Baked showed their power early as they potted 3 goals in the first period with the Devils showing fatigue.  The Devils eventually fell to Honey Baked, by a score of 8 to 1.  Owen Beck scored the lone goal for the Devils on a pass from Trevor Hoskin. Corbin Votary and Bradey Spry shared the duties in the Devils cage. 


On Deck: Next action for the Foley Bus Lines Minor Bantams is Dec 2, back in ETA action, against the Ajax Pickering Raiders at the QSWC. Puck Drops at 3:45pm.

Game Ready Hockey Development - Bantam
The Game Ready Development Bantams had two games this past week.
Wednesday the Devils travelled to Whitby to take on the first place Wildcats where they lost 7-1. Nathanial Burelle had the lone goal. Assisting was Luke Laplam and Ben White. Ethan Fraser was in net. 

On Saturday the Devils hosted the Barrie Colts, beating them 3-1. Goals by Luke Laplam, Nathanial Burelle, and Zack Brooks. Assists go to Daniel Michaud (2), Gavin Camp, and Jett Butler. Dixon Grimes was in net and was awarded player of the game. 

 

Bonn Law - Peewee
The Bonn Law Quinte Red Devils Major Peewee Team earned back to back wins in league play this weekend.

On Saturday, The Devils hosted The Oshawa Generals in a rare Saturday afternoon home game in Belleville. It was all Red Devils in this one, as they scored four goals in the first period, and added two more in the third to win the game 6-0.

Lighting the lamp for the home team was Ethan Miedema (2), Aidan Haller-Brady, Sidney Wakely, Jack Dever and Ethan Quick. Assisting on the goals was Tyson Carr, Jack Dever (2), Duncan Schneider, Ethan Quick, Brayden Friedrich, and Ethan Miedema. Brayden Friedrich had another very solid game in net, turning away everything that The Generals put at him, to earn the shut out.On Sunday, The Devils were in Peterborough to take on the Pete's. It was The Pete's who got the early lead in this one, just five minutes into the game, but Ethan Miedema tied it up just one minute later, scoring a power play goal from Christopher Brydges and Duncan Schneider. The Pete's scored one more goal before the end of the first, to take the lead into the second period. Ethan Quick took no time at all to tie the game in the second period, from Will Haley and Nick Oke. The Devils took the lead back, halfway through the second period on a goal from Nick Oke, assisted by Jack Dever. Aidan Crowley made several key saves in the game, and shut the door on the Pete's after the first period, to earn the 3-2 win between the pipes.
On Deck: Friday December 1st, 7:00 pm in Kingston. Sunday December 3rd, 2:30 pm in Madoc vs The Central Ontario Wolves.

Pita Pit - Atom
Two games, four points for the Major Atom Pita Pit Red Devils this weekend. The team came out flying at home in Belleville on Saturday versus the Oshawa Generals and controlled the entire game. First on the scoreboard was Carter Chadwick, assisted by Mason Musclow, then Rylan McCormack, assisted by Alec Asimis. Deke Osterhout added a third goal, assisted by Kayden Harmon and Asimis made it 4-1, assisted by Evan Erwin. Oshawa rallied in the third, but came up short in the 4-3 final. Lennox Stewart was in net for the win.

The team travelled to Little Britain to play the Central Ontario Wolves on Sunday. A strong showing by team d meant few shots on net. The Quinte boys dominated and kept the action in the COW zone, netting some pretty goals along the way, starting with Alec Asimis (on a seven-game point streak), assisted by Erwin and Harmon. Next up was Avery Wease (Chadwick, Musclow). Asimis scored again, assisted by McCormack and Erwin. Harmon joined the scoring crowd with another goal (Osterhout, Musclow). Chadwick netted the team’s last goal (Owen Cassidy, Nathan Sills). Coaches gave Sills player-of-the-game honours and noted his solid performance over the last few weeks. Liam Boyer picked up the win in the 5-1 final.

On Deck: The Pita Pit boys head to Hamilton on Friday to participate in the Hamilton Jr. Bulldogs Backspin Classic.


Kwik Kopy Printing - Minor Atom
The Kwik Kopy Printing Minor Atoms were on the road this past weekend. The Devils faced the Barrie Colts Saturday November 25th.  Barrie came out strong from the start and had the Devils on their heels most of this game.  Kaden Koutroulides got Quinte on the board late in the third period but, the game would end 5-1.

The Devils were looking for a better effort Sunday November 26th when they faced the North Central Predators in Orillia.  Three minutes into the game Quinte was up 2-0 on goals by Jack Foley and Kaden Koutroulides.  Assists to Connor Fetterley and Cooper Kelly.  The Devils carried much of the play and would go up 3-0 late in the second on a goal by Kolby Craig assisted by Owen Rivers. The Predators got on the board with a goal midway through the third but, Koutroulides would score his second of the game late, securing a
4-1 road win.  Kayden Mcbride-Hyde earned the win in net.
