Foley Bus Lines - Minor Bantam
Three games for the Foley Bus Lines Minor Bantams this week in ETA action. The Bus Liners rebounded after last weekend with three wins and 6 more points to stay atop the ETA East Division.
On Wednesday Jan. 24, the Devils hosted the Central Ontario Wolves at the QSWC. The Devils took control early with 4 unanswered goals in the first period. Scoring for the red helmets were; Cooper Matthews, Dalyn Wakely, and Connor Hunt. Assisting on the first period goals were; Donovan McCoy, Aaron Brown, Owen Beck, Sami Douglas-Najem and Dalyn Wakely. The Devils continued with two more goals in the 2nd frame by Noah Richard and Trevor Hoskin, as Corbin Roach and Aaron Brown provided the helpers. The third period saw only one Devil goal, as Liam Filip lit the lamp on a feed from Cooper Matthews. Corbin Votary held the Wolves scoreless in the Devils cage as he picked up his 4rd shut out in his last 6 starts.
On Saturday Jan. 27, the Bus Liners hosted the Peterborough Petes at the QSWC. The Devils added 3 goals in the first period, as Corbin Roach, Owen Beck, and Connor Hunt found the back of the Petes net. Providing assists were; Sami Douglas-Najem, Dalyn Wakely, Corbin Roach, Noah Richard, Trevor Hoskin, and Owen Beck. The Devils added three more goals in the 2nd; by Dalyn Wakely, Cooper Matthews and Trevor Hoskin. Providing the assists were; Cooper Matthews, Corbin Roach, Donovan McCoy, Owen Beck, and Connor Hunt. The Petes would add a 2nd period goal of their own to make the game 6 to 1 in favour of the Devils going into the third period. The Devils failed to find more goals in the third, allowing the Petes to score one more. The Devils took the game with a final score of 6 to 2 as Brady Spry picked up the win in the Devils net.
On Sunday Jan. 28, the Devils took to the road to take on the Ajax-Pickering Raiders at the Delaney Ice Centre. This match-up, put the top team in the East vs, the top team in the West. The Devils got on the board early by scoring two goals in the first period. Noah Richard scored first, by picking up a rebound off a point shot by Aaron Brown and assisted by Trevor Hoskin. Just two minutes later, Dalyn Wakely would light the lamp for the Devils, assisted by Cooper Matthews and Donovan McCoy. The score remained 2 to 0 for the Devils until early in the third period, where the Raiders scored on a 5 on 3 advantage. The Devils held on to finish the game by a score of 2 to 1. Corbin Votary went the distance in the Devils cage.
On Deck: Next action for the Foley Bus Lines Minor Bantams is Feb 3 at the QSWC as the Devils host the Clarington Toros. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:45pm.
Rhino Sports and Play - Novice
The Rhino Sports and Play Quinte Novice Red Devils hosted the Markham Waders this past Saturday in 5-5 tie. The Devil's started out strong with 3 goals scored in the first by Keegan Goulah, Seth Scaletta and Nate Rashotte. First period assists came from Jake Gawley, Brayden Davidson (2), Cameron Shaw and MacLean Chisholm.
After a fast paced start in the 1st the Devils continued their scoring with two more goals in period 2, scored by Davidson, assisted by Scaletta, Gawley and Goulah(2). Between the posts for Quinte was goaltender Charlie Vos.
Madison Excavating - Minor Peewee
The Madison Excavating Minor Peewees were on the road this weekend for their final match up against the Central Ontario Wolves in Little Britain and sealing 2 more points.
Quinte was on the road Sunday to take on the Wolves. The first period had the Devils shaking off their travel legs and finished in a 0-0 tie. The Devils would open up scoring in the second as Thomas Kuipers would go in on the pass from Ty Therrien to make it 1-0 Quinte. The Devils would continue to add to their lead to make it 3-0 by the end of the second. Scoring in the second were Liam Philip and Jared Langdon. Assisting were Beckett Ewart and Carson Campbell. The Wolves would start the third with a goal but it would be the only goal in their favour as Quinte would make it a decisive 7-1 win by the end of the game. Scoring for the Devils in the third were Philip, Langdon, Deacon Ellis and Brody Partridge. Assists came from Ewart, Partridge, Landon Wright and Ben Vreugdenhil. Dean Spry minded the net for the Devils for the win.
On Deck: The Madison Excavating Minor Peewees will host the Whitby Wildcats at 4:15 at the QSWC on Saturday Feb 3.
Pita Pit - Atom
Pita Pit Boys Clinch First Place
The Pita Pit Atom boys had a disappointing start to there home and home with the Whitby Wildcats. The matchup started Tuesday in Whitby. Despite a well-played game by Quinte it ended in a loss. Quinte's lone goal was scored by Rylan McCormack assisted by Sam Thompson and Avery Wease. Whitby scored an empty net goal for a final of 3-1. Lennox Stewart was strong in net.
The Pita Pit boys were well prepared for the rematch in their home barn of Deseronto on Saturday. With Liam Boyer solid between the pipes, Quinte started the scoring with 2 goals in the first period from McCormack assisted by Wease and Mason Musclow and Ethan Lord unassisted. Whitby battled back to score twice in the second but the Pita Pit boys weren't finished with Evan Erwin scoring 2 more in the third to end the game in a 4-2 win. Assisted by Alek Asimis and Owen Ferguson.
To round out the weekend the Pita Pit boys faced the Ajax- Pickering Raiders at home in Deseronto. The team powered past the Raiders in a 4-1 victory to put them in first place. Quinte goals by Mason Boyer assisted by Asimis and Erwin. Other goals scored by McCormack and Deke Osterhout (2) assisted by Musclow (2).
KKP - Minor Atom
On January 18th the KKP Minor Atoms hosted the Peterborough Petes. The Minor Atoms came out flying and skated to a 4-1 victory. Kayden Mcbride-Hyde got the win in net. Scoring for the Devils was Connor Fetterley, Carson Lynch, Riley Reid and Jack Foley. Picking up assists were Reid, Foley, Fetterley Kolby Craig and Lucas Adamson.
On January 20th the Devils hosted the Oshawa Generals. The Devils struggled at times and lost a close one 3-2.
Nowl Wallace was in net for the Devils. Scoring both of the Devils goals was Foley with assists going to Craig, Owen Rivers (2) and Rykken Ellis. On January 21st the Devils travelled to play the first place Central Ontario Wolves. The Devils were able to hang around but ended up losing 3-1. Mcbride-Hyde was in net for the Devils. Scoring for the Devils was Foley.
On January 25th the Devils hosted the Clarington Toros. The Devils controlled the game start to finish winning 4-0. Wallace got the shutout in net. Scoring for the Devils was Matthew Airhart, Rivers, Craig and Ryland Cunningham. Craig and Airhart picked up assists. On January 27th the Devils hosted the Ajax Pickering Raiders. The Devils won 3-1. Mcbride-Hyde picked up the win in net. Scoring for the Devils was Craig (2) and Foley.
Picking up assists was Rivers, Cunningham, Cooper Kelly and Kaden Koutroulides (2).
On Deck: The Devils have three big games this week including a crucial game January 31st vs the Whitby Wildcats.
