The Quinte Red Devil Madison Excavating Minor Peewees took home the gold medal in a thrilling overtime win over the host Markham Waxers at the 2018 OMHA Minor Peewee AAA Championships. Gage Butcher tipped in a shot from Ben Vreugdenhil two minutes into the extra period for the winner. Other goals were scored by Jarod Langdon, and Liam Philip. The win avenged a loss to the Waxers one year ago in the minor atom final. In the round-robin portion tournament they defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs 3-2, the Burlington Eagles 5-2, and the Whitby Wildcats 4-3, and dropped a close one with Markham 2-1.
